Everytime I read these Babesia articles, it makes me question how likely it is that I and so many supposedly have it. These articles stress a level of seriousness and death that few here ever have. It's odd and kind of disturbing honestly.

I don't know how they can prove that people died of babesia when the tests are so inaccurate. Sounds kind of fishy to me...
I'm glad they are telling people to beware of ticks, though.

NOTHING ABOUT MY BABESIA HAS EVER BEEN "QUIET."
My babesia is a "clear and present danger." When off my babs meds for whatever reason, I am at death's door.
My babs is neurological, causes irregular heart beats, and brain symptoms that lead me to believe that off of meds, I will enter insanity in a matter of weeks. Complete loss of congition, memory, vision, and pain is greater than I can imagine cancer patients feel.
STart babs meds again, and all these retreat to some degree, along with a huge herx. Symptoms can't retreat completely becuase lyme causes them too, and I have chronic lyme.
Never had a negative FISH test, and have been tested 4 times.
One ID doc asked me how I managed to walk into his office my babs test was so high.
Yet, I have a hard time tolerating malarial meds becuase I have a lupus like reaction to them.
I hang in the balance. This week I introduced low dose naltrexone (LDN) and am having some luck.
Yes, it is serious. IT is devastating. It causes organs to shut down if not controlled.
It will kill you.

And I forgot to say, I have had all babs medicines in all combinations by many leading llmds.
It is just chronic. That all there is to it.

Lymewreck - That's how babs made me feel. Exactly as you're describing. I realized after finally starting treatment for it that that was the infection that gave me the "I'm dying" feeling. Every time I came off Babs meds I would relapse in a matter of days.
My insurance cancelled me and I could no longer afford Mepron or Malarone. I was Rifing for Lyme at the time and ended up with no choice but to try my machine on my Babesia infection. I had ZERO faith that it would work, but guess what? It did!!! It knocked my Babs flat out. I'm healthier than I've ever been now b/c of it. Please look into it, it really does work.

Have you tried Rife or mixed herbals ?

I don't disagree that babesia is serious... It's just very hard to diagnose. The symptoms of babs can also be the same symptoms of other illnesses or a combination of illnesses.
They even just recently changed the name of babesia microti to Theileria microti or human theileriosis. So, there's still alot we don't know...
I'm not sure if this distinction will make a difference in treatment. It just shows that not alot is known about how to diagnose & treat it. The more we know, the better the chances that we will find better treatments for it.
People with AIDS probably have a better quality of life than some of us do... They spent ALOT of money on AIDS research. How much is being spent on human theileriosis?

I am including herbals for my babs. I just recently back on plaquenil, but holding my breath and hoping the LDN stops the autoimmune reaction that plaquenil has been giving me.
Rifing I have not tried, but I'm looking into it here in Switzerland.
For me, staying alive is a delicate act on a tight rope.

Lymewreck/Mary, Several people here have used Riamet for babesia. Did that help at all for you?
