Just curious what the general consensus, if any, there is on how our bodies respond to fractures and other injuries of the bone/tendons.

I've read there is a definite inflammatory response, but has anyone had experience with slow healing, or has it generally been normal?

Thanks in advance for all your responses.

I had a bone break in my foot 3 years ago.. I stepped wrong and a tendon pulled and pulled a chunk of bone off with it.
Doctors couldn't do anything, said it would heal on it's own.
It still hurts sometimes to this day, some days worse than others.

I have had open heart surgery-ribs broken 18 months ago, and where they broke the bones it is very painful and there is arthritis there now.

I know it is because of Lyme.

I broke my ankle last week (distal fibula) and so far it's been awful.

I've had to get my cast off after three days, get checked for a blood clot and then get recasted because I have all these weird tingling sensations in the cast.

Also have awful calf cramps with this cast.

But everything checked out fine and the docs don't know why I'm having a hard time wearing the cast. They put me on an aspirin regimen just to be safe.

I think it's the lyme doing this.

I go back in a week for a follow up x-ray. They told me most people are healed enough at that point to get an air cast boot put on, so we'll see if I've healed enough too.
