- Of course, be certain no manufactured woods or plastics are used at all - anywhere in the unit.
Be sure of how they treat the wood and if non-toxic glues are used. If they don't say, then they probably don't use non-toxic glues and it would be best to find one that does.
Heavenly Heat is a brand known to be safe. =

I've been looking around for one too. I like the one at the link you gave. Pretty nice and reasonably priced.
This is the one I used at the Hansa Center where I was treated for lyme disease almost a month ago. It's a really nice unit too but they don't post the prices for some reason. You have to write to them to get the pricing information. I really liked using it but I don't know if it's the "best" one out there. Take a look at it and see what you think:
Sunlight Saunas. Solo to lie down in, others to sit in. Excellent in all ways.

Sunlight saunas just came out with a new line of saunas- SO they are discounting last years models- They are a very good company- They have some that are made from basswood- Thats what i would get
It seems to me all three of the Co.s above have about the same product.
They all seem to say there are no other sauna companys that knows as much about detoxification as themselfs.

Can you use these things with catheters? I would be worrying that sweating will cause the dressing to come loose.

Lou I think the answer is no.....my friend with a chest port doesn't go in his sauna while there is a dressing on.

Make sure to negotiate price...

You can negotiate pricing with these Co.s?

Hi Roy, I bought an infrared sauna a year ago and love it.
The main thing I was told to make sure is that the sauna had carbon heaters, not ceramic and that the wood was non-toxic.
Depending on the size you are looking for, a good 1-2 person carbon sauna can cost about $1000.
Just bought a FIR sauna from sunlight saunas

I bought the Hemlock 2 person sauna from National Pool Wholesale. It is one of the cheapest saunas but I have been happy with it for about 2 years now. Heaters work great. There was a time that I used it everyday for about 6 months. The floor wasn't made real well (some pieces a bit loose) but it works fine.
I know people question whether Hemlock is safe but I found it has less odor than the Cedar ones. Just thought I would share my experience. So many of us with lyme are strapped for cash.
I also have a portable sauna that folds up. Those only cost about $200-300 (I got mine used on Craigslist for $100). They really heat up quickly and get you sweating. Your head is outside so you are not breathing anything toxic.
