How can the pain never fluxuate, how can it just get worse and worse and worse. I don't understand. It never backs off. The shoulder, the forearm, elbow, wrist. Why does it just marsh on to hell with no let up!

I am losing more and more mobility of my shoulder with each passing week no matter how mcuh I try to stretch, etc. Sleeping is tough due to horrific shoulder pain.

richedie:
There is no way to understand the evolution of some symptoms. Nevertheless when levaquin has been implicated, one has a lot of chances of suffering delayed disorders, that normally show up several months after ceasing the treatment. We all know what are the consequences of becoming a bit intoxicated by levaquin.
Those pains of yours can be due to many factors, but they are one of the hallmarks of tendon and neuromuscular damage caused by levaquin.
Hope it is not the case, but I wanted to mention it just in case you want to take it into account when planning your antibiotic treatments.
Wish you get relief soon.

Thanks, how long does it take to go away if that is the case? I read o na few medical sites it can take a few months to dissipate.

My orthopedist thinks it could be froxen shoulder because I have lost so much range of motion. However, why then do the deltoid muscles hurt and other surrounding muscles. Referred pain?

Can Lyme limit your improvement with this issue?

Wish I had an answer for you. I do feel your pain Richie. I'm having a shoulder issue as well. My PCP thought I had a tear in my rotator cuff but I had an MRI Friday and I have a cyst in my shoulder joint.

My pain sounds alot like yours. I'm trying to figure out the same thing about my pain, how it can affect the muscles. My whole arm just aches at tmes like a big ol toothache. I'm losing more range of motion all the time.

I hope you get yours figured out soon. I know how frustrating it is.

Your shoulder sounds very similar to my worst shoulder pain. It was so bad that I could not fly to my out of town LLMD at the time, and went to a local LLMD/acupuncturist, who prescribed cucumin and bromelain (sp?) for the inflamation, and two acupuncture sessions, which allowed the arm to move just enough that I could go to physical therapy.

The physical therapist said it was the worst frozen shoulder he had ever seen. Had at least 6 weeks, maybe more of pt. That LLMD took no insurance, so could not afford to go back to him. But luckily was able to get off the waiting list for a good, driving distance LLMD.

Never knew if anything other than inflammation from lyme caused the pain. The deltoid muscle in both arms had been a problem off and on, but this time the pain was on a whole new level. Like the deep bone pain I used to get before starting treatment.

My shoulder is perfectly fine now, but if I had not been lucky enough to have the more local LLMD recognize immediately what needed to be done, I shudder to think of the outcome. I have one ruined knee from waiting too long to find out what the problem was!

Best wishes!
