I have an indefinite Western Blot. A couple markers positive on one part of the test. One marker positive on the other part of the test.CD57 test was 188. The reason I wonder about mycoplasmas is two fold. One I had a bout of undiagnosed symptoms that went on for months that a friend of mine and I both had about 17 years ago. Diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome then. And when I was 11 i went thru 3 weeks of general malaise and coughing. Ended up being called mitral valve prolapse and bronchitis. Not sure what anyone knows about Mycoplasmas but any knowledge or info as to more information or research about them would be awesome. The other reason i am considering mycoplasma is a urine test showed major amino deficiencies and vitamin d deficiency. A hallmark of mycoplasma is that it feeds on arginine amino acids and be in any system in the body damaging but not destroying cells. And can imitate and lead to alot of similar things lyme can imitate and lead to. It can also hide very well inside cells as it has no cell wall.

Mycoplasma is often a coinfection with lyme disease.
A good internist may be able to test you and treat you for myco and get rid of it for you. A friend of mine did that. But, since she also had lyme disease and babesiosis and bartonella, she was still sick anyway.
So, her next step was to go to a lyme doc. The lyme doc confirmed that the myco was gone through a test.
It is treated with antibiotics.
Have you read the Burrascano lyme treatment guidelines? They mention myco a few times. Just do a word search while you have the document on line:
Also, since lyme tests are not reliable, lyme is diagnosed based on symptoms.
If you go to a lyme doc, he/she could give you a trial of antibiotics and see how you react. If you react positively, then you get your lyme diagnosis that way. A lyme doc would know how to treat myco also.

Thanks. I was on a dual treatment of Doxycycline 200mg 2xdaily and Azithromycin 500mg 2xdaily. Insurance only gave me 3 days worth of the Azithromycin so just taking the Doxy for now. It seems to be the most used and preferred antibiotic for quite a wide variety of infections. Only started a few days ago so I will wait and see I suppose.

If you were bitten by a tick it is entirely possible for the tick to give you both lyme and mycoplasma.
Not sure if this article will confuse you more or answer your question. Anyway it is a very good summary of mycoplasma info.

Thank you for the replies. I tried self diagnosing when things first started. Drove myself crazy with worry. Now that I have some direction I do believe that God can help me to gain knowledge on how to pursue true diagnosis and treatment for whatever I may end up discovering I have. God bless you .
