I have been taing ABs for half year. I took Biaxin, Cipro, Tinidazol, Rifampin, Doxy, Azithromycin, Plaquenil And I am not better, I am suffering very much.
Now I went to a doctor who thinks I have lymphoma:( I have to wait for an all body CT.
Do you think if I have lyme I should have improved after taking these ABs?

I am sorry that you are going through such worry.
I hope your CT results are normal.
I was told that there is too much herxing in the first 6 months to even think about improving.
It takes time, alot of time.
I will say a prayer for you.

If everyone were 6 mths of abx and done. Healed, cured, bad memory? That would be easy street. aaaahhhhhhhhh
I hope everything is negative for this other test. I'm not wishing lyme on you, just want the 'oma" question eliminated.
Take care, Pam

It is important to rule out everything before considering infectious pathogens as a cause of your illness. So, let your doctor run as many of those kinds of tests as he can think of. If they all come back normal, then consider infectious pathogens as a possibility for your illness. Lyme should be considered, as well as EBV, HHV-6, enterovirus, Cpn and others.
Best, Timaca

Could the lymphoma follow after lyme? There are posts here about swollen lymph nodes from bartonella. I have no medical knowledge, just a simple question.

6 months is a very short time!
I was on antibioitcs a whole year before I even got slight improvement. Even that was barely enough to notice.
In the DVD...Under Our Skin, the ranger said it was after 3 years of treatment before he saw any improvement.
It doesn't hurt to check out other causes though. Ruling out other illness helps us to figure out if we have LD, and accept the lyme diagnosis.
I hope you find out what you have! The hardest part is not knowing for sure.

Have you ever tested via Igenex for Lyme disease?
There are certain bands that are Lyme specific.
Hoping and praying for you and for negative testing.
Hugs,
Geneal

If you'd share your test results, we may be able to tell you more.
The main thing is the CT scan you are waiting for. Let's hope you don't have both!
Yes, 6 mo isn't very long when it comes to Lyme treatment.

Don't let the docs jump to conclusions if the CT scan shows something. Hubby has pulmonary nodules and one lesion on his liver and another lesion on his colon I think -- all showed on his full-body CT or PET -- forget which. The doc at the time tried to say hubby had sarcoidosis, but the pulmonologist disagreed.
It is our opinion that all of hubby's findings point to bartonella or mycoplasma or BLO or the mystery pathogen whatever that is.

As the others have said six months is a very short time to have been treating lyme. Especially if you've had it for five years.
My husband was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in January 2009. After five months of chemo therapy he is now in remission.
The oncologist told us if ya gotta get cancer...lymphoma is one of the most treatable kinds to get .
Please let us know how things for for you. Posted by Pinelady (Member # 18524) on :
Hope I agree it could be lymphoma. But it could also be the lymph nodes loaded with dead and dying
borrelia. Which may not be able to be determined until biopsy. Remember most labs cant find them
unless they know what to look for. You can research lymph massage for
lyme and get some clues to help. I do know a man who was told by his doctor they thought he had
lung cancer from nodules on scan. It was lyme and they are now gone with IV treatment.
