HQW LONG SHOULD IT TAKE TO START FEELING BETER?

Ed that may depend on your dosage. Do you have a LLMD to help you?

Sounds like lyme but you may also have other infections with it that will require treatments as well. I was on doxy for over 2 mths.

and it took care of a lot of my neuro symptoms, but there is still lots of treatment I need.

Ed...I had the same tingling sensations in my scalp and face and the burning hands and feet. I have neuro lyme as well.

Everyone responds differently to meds and I think it depends on how long you have been sick. I personally saw results within 2 weeks of starting IV antibiotics.

Good luck...hope that helps!

I had ths for years. Sugar and carbs make it worse.

Its like someone took a razor to your feet then poure salt on the wounds and tied it up tight.

IM on 120mg of cymbalta which helps with the pain, adderall too.

Mine is the same...pain in my feet and legs gets way worse with sugar and carbs. I can't believe I didn't put it together sooner...

For me it's yeast...not lyme or bart! Since going after the yeast issue, things are getting better.

hmmm, that's probably a die-off herx. have you tried somethign mild like otc candex or something. not nearly as harsh as diflucan.

Ceftin seems to be a very effective drug. I'm on it right now and had a massive herx, which I'm still feeling somewhat, a few days after starting it. Just a warning, with Neuroborreliosis and Lyme in general you will usually feel worse before feeling better. I had a splitting headache yesterday, likely from all the Bb and co-infections that had taken residence in my brain dying off and releasing floods of toxins.

Be prepared for some pain. I find that retreating to a dark, quiet place with a damp towel on your head helps a bit. Basically though you will have to endure it.

I had that as well prior to Biaxin tx.

Three months on Biaxin and now pulsing it with .

It has decreased neuro. symptoms across the board.

I have the burning feet, especially my right one. I have always attributed it to bart.

Burning feet is a symptom of neuropathy which can be caused by anything that damages the nerves. All of these infections seem to do that. Diabetes does it as well.

I've been infected for decades. It took a quite a long time for the burning feet to go away and they still come back once in awhile.

Burning feet has always been a red flag for Bart. You can search history as this has been brought up on the board many times. I believe it was Dr. B that said it was associated with Bart.

This is neuropathy...it can be from tick born infections. Ask for Neurotin to help with the pain.

From the truth about lyme, scroll down for Bart. symptoms.

I did not notice results on doxycycline 200 mg twice/day untill at least 6 wks and from there
a slow steady improvement. I think it does better than ceftin at crossing BBB at higher doses but correct me if otherwise. Ceftin will
kill blood borne spirochetes quickly and you will notice results more quickly too from what I have heard. Was it TF who said once you've cleared out all the blood borne stuff you can follow up
with some cyst clearing Rx like flagyl etc.
and finish that job on that microbe.

I had some episodes of one of my toes feeling like it was on fire after contracting and being treated for Lyme. I told several doctors about it and they looked at my like I was nuts. But the good news after seeing several doctors about what I believed could be reemerging/persistent Lyme, I was put on IV rocephin and later oral zitthromax. Guess what, after the antibiotics, the burning disappeared. The zithromax seemed to work the best for taking this away for me. I am again struggling with other symptoms that seemed to remiss when on abx and then reappear when off them for awhile(believe they are due to persistent Lyme disease while all the doctors beg to differ), but the burning sensation seems to be something that was cured and so far has not returned.
