When I wake up in the morning, I always lay in bed for a bit before getting up. I find that within just a couple of minutes of waking up, my heart begins to race.
Any thoughts on why this happens?

They make 4 different formulas of the Neuro-Toxin and Dr. Jernigan put me on the Cardio formula because I had ammonia in my heart and brain. I don't have hardly any heart palpitations anymore and the heart racing in the morning has stopped.
In addition to those two remedies, I took a special homeopathic remedy Dr Jernigan made which can't be purchased online because you have to be BCR tested to see exactly what your body needs.
Look over the Jernigan Nutraceutical website and see if there's any remedies there that match up to your symptoms. http://www.jernigannutraceuticals.com/
Of course, it's best to go to Dr. Jernigan for treatment so he can give you a BCR test and find out exactly what your body needs, but if you can't do that for some reason, then it's worth ordering some remedies on the website to see if they can help you.
Some people do well from just reading his book, "Beating Lyme Disease" (second edition) and following his protocol in the book. But if you are able to drive up to Wichita to see him, I highly recommend you make the trip. You can get treatments there that you can't get from the remedies online.
Using his homeopathic and herbal remedies, along with his therapies, is what finally got me back on the path to healing.
Like I said, if nothing else, order a bottle of Neuro-Toxins ll and see if that helps you with the heart racing. It definitely helped me.
Praying things get better for you soon!

I used to get that a lot. It's better now that I am on verapamil...but it still happens sometimes. I was on beta blockers before that .. for tachycardia.
Now I have A-fib and was put on the verapamil.

Yeah, that happens to me sometimes.

Is this still from Lyme or a co-infection Lymetoo or there beforehand? I recall you said you had Lyme for 40+ years. Just curious.

This heart racing first thing in the morning is new for me. It just started this week. I guess they are more like palpitations.
I had my follow up with my LLMD today and he suggested seeing a cardiologist. Posted by shelly23 (Member # 16124) on :
I had this and hated it, probably one of my most dreaded symptoms, got better with doxy

I used to have this as well and it has resolved with treatment.
Its definitely a Lyme symptom.
I hope it goes away for you soon!

Thanks for your responses!!
After a rough night, I did some more searching this morning and after reading all of Keeblers posts about magnesium, I started to pay more attention. Thanks Keebler!
I am now hoping that this may be what is contributing to my son's facial twitches and super high anxiety.
I am also hoping this may be what's contributing to my light and sound sensitivity.
I ordered transdermal magnesium online and am off to get oral magnesium today. (I'm going to try a different kind).
Thanks again for the responses and support. I'd be lost without this board.

Have you been checked for high a.m. cortisol?
Posted by momintexas (Member # 23391) on :
As a matter of fact, my LLMD just gave me the script to have cortisol levels checked yesterday!
I plan to do it next week.

Well, if your LLMD thinks you should see a cardiologist then I suppose you should do it. However, I know the doctor you are going to, he's still relatively new in the lyme business.
I'm not knocking him, he helped my wife get well when she relapsed, but he never did help me or my wife when it came to toxin removal. Toxin removal is something he seems to not yet be too familiar with, at least he wasn't when my wife and I went to him.
I went to my cardiologist when this happened to me and he gave me a device to wear for 24 hours to record my heart rhythm, etc. I can't remember what his diagnosis was, but he said it was common for some people to have this and it usually turns into nothing serious. So, that wasn't too helpful, except it was nice to know that it wasn't anything serious.
I felt what was going on with me was lyme related. My LLMD (same doctor as yours) couldn't figure it out, and my cardiologist couldn't figure it out. Finally, after seeing Dr. Jernigan he figured it out and told me I had ammonia in my heart and brain. The Neuro-Toxin ll Cardio took care of the problem.
I really believe you ought to consider trying Neuro-Toxin ll Cardio and see if that helps you. It stopped my heart racing and palpitations. If you have ammonia in your heart, as many of us with lyme disease do, your cardiologist isn't going to have a clue.
I can't promise you that the Neuro-Toxin ll Cardio will resolve your heart racing, but it worked for me. It works to remove the toxins in the heart and the brain. I also had head pressure on the left side of my brain that went away after taking this formula because the ammonia was in my brain too.
I hope and pray you get this issue resolved one way or the other. Keep us posted.

I need to sit and read the entire site. I'm interested in what it has to say about everything.

I have had this for a long time, my heart races in the morning. I take a beta blocker when I first get outof bed, but it really doesn't help. Also not good for my low BP.
I had my 2nd test for cortisol, it is sky high when I get up. Had an LD appoint yesterday, and he finally delving in hormones. He says it is from the high cortisol. I always blamed it on my thyroid.
He did alot of bloodwork yesterday for hormones, especially adrenals. We'll see what happens.
