Just got my Western Blot results from Labcorp:
IgG p58 AB. Abnormal
IgG p41 AB. Abnormal
Negitive

IgM p23 AB. Abnormal
Negitive

All other bands were Absent

It says negitive. Should I interpet this in any other way?

You really need to be tested by a more reliable lab. Most LLMD's' use Igenex in CA. You can check out their website and call them for questions.

Are you seeing a LLMD? If not, you can find one through the Seeking a Doctor Forum here.

Band 23 is lyme specific....Outer Surface Protein C....see page 7 of the following paper under "Western Blots are reported...."

http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

Dr C believes that band 58 is also lyme specific.

Note that in the link above on page 7, Dr B says that you should see band 41 and one lyme specific band....which you have.

Find a good LLMD on the Seeking a Doctor board if you do not already have one.

The "negative" only means that your results are not reportable to the CDC...it is not a diagnostic criteria.

Also, the lab used here leaves out many important bands which is incomplete.

Igenex tests for all bands.

Since lyme is a clinical diagnosis based on history and symptoms you should find a LLMD. I think he will find evidence in your WB results.

Lyme Disease is a "clinical" diagnosis. The test is just used to back up the clinical diagnosis.

Many ppl will test positive after a few months of treatment. This will back up the clinical diagnosis.

23 is specific for lyme!

So with bands 58, 41, and 23 positive, 23 being specific, symptoms, links to docs that say one or two bands are enough.......Can I finally say, when people ask whats wrong.....I got Lyme Disease?

Technically, you need to see a LLMD and get a good evaluation and diagnosis.
