My son has had constant headache pain for almost 10 years despite improvement in other TBD-related symptoms with antibiotic treatment. So, I keep looking at headache causes.

Squirreling around the internet, I came across a reference to "contact point headache"...which can present in a wide variety of ways. It's an ENT thing....doesn't show up in any of the neuro headache classifications that I've seen. Seems to appear in the literature mostly in the past five years...seems worth looking at.

Treatment is minor, out-patient surgery to remove the point of contact....see below:

"When two structures inside the nasal cavity press against each other (Fig 2), in some individuals (people who suffer from migraine and other chronic headaches) this abnormality will facilitate continuation and exasperation of pain in the head and neck area that makes a loop of a vicious cycle. By removing one of these structures we are breaking this cycle and alleviating or reducing the headaches (Fig 3,4)".

Madge,
I would think that they treat people who have other health issues. This is a very specific treatment...just fixing something that is structurally wrong.
