It seems each week brings some new crazy symptom, lately my lips and tongue feel swollen or kind of numb/tingly.. They dont look swollen, they just feel really weird, almost annoying.

has anyone else experienced this?

I had a lot of paresthesias and neuropathies including tingling in my mouth, tongue, lips, and gums.

All of my paresthesias have slowly improved with (yet ongoing) oral abx treatment.

Replacing electrolytes helped mine. Gotta have them in the fluids to enable the cells to carry the oxygen and nutrients.

I am not on any treatment yet, I am patiently waiting.. but my lips started feeling weird a couple of weeks ago. Almost like they are swollen but they are not. They kind of tingle, not itchy just plain weird. Then last week my tongue started with the tingling/swollen feeling.

The funny thing is my fingers have become very sensitive along with this. Mostly my finger tips. Very sensitive and swollen.

good times, good times.... yea right! [Wink]

I had this and it was one of the first symptoms to get better with treatment.

Rarely I get a rolling numbness that may include my face, lips and tongue but now only in the beginning of starting a new drug.

When I first started having the neuro symptoms, it began with numbness and tingling all over my body, which progressed to outright pain. With time, it became confined to my head and face. usually one side of my face gets to hurting after awhile as well.

Comes and goes now, less frequently now and less intense....it is mostly just a weird feeling of fullness in my head, and occasional ringing in my ears.

Fun, huh? When I was trying to explain my symptoms to people back in the beginning, I just said that it felt like I had grabbed onto an electric fence and couldn't let go!

Hi...I fortunately have experienced little pain with Lyme, but I have had odd neurological symptoms. I have had numbness and tingling in my hands and feet (now resolved) and have had involuntary twitching and contractions in my lips, tongue, and throat area. Very uncomfortable. I am in my second month of antibiotic treatment and the symptoms are resolving a bit. I am also applying transdermal magnesium to my skin most days...maybe that is helping as well. Good luck. Like sick tick I have also felt like I have been on the receiving end of one large bolt of electricity.
