Can anybody recommend a good book to me that covers THE LIVER.
I think someone recommended Jack Trips - Liver

a modern liver book that is well referenced with lots of scientific studies is Buhner's Herbs For Hepatitis C And The Liver. He cured his Hepatitis C without drugs, which is a rather intense thing to attempt.

- 3/4 of the way down page one at this thread are many good liver links. Most of them are articles, on is a book with a great chapter on the liver:
