I have never herxed this bad on anything. Usually my herxing consists of fatigue but now I have dizziness, nausea, back of my head hurts when I recline, light sensitivity and severe headaches that usually come in the afternoon. Any suggestions for tolerating the herx symptoms? This has been going on 20 days and getting worse. When it gets too bad, I take alka seltzer plus which has aspirin in it and i don't like that. This herxing started on my second bottle of Mepron. I take 1 teaspoon twice a day and 500 mg, zithromax 1 time daily.

I had the herx from he!! on those meds, within a day of starting. Ended up in the ER with a seizure-like episode and tachycardia. I would suggest extreme detox measures: the Pekana remedies, glutathione, burbur & parsley & keep it comin.' Things did get more tolerable after a couple of weeks. Good luck.

I also had a very hard time with Mepron and Zith (same doses). I was able to complete two 3 week courses, with a 3 week break in between. I became bedridden and felt like I was dying. My LLMD felt that the 6 weeks was sufficient, but I still have my Babesia symptoms. I may try Malarone in the future.
Hang in there as long as you can, but also listen to your body. You may need breaks periodically from these meds.

thanks so much for your feedback. it is good to know that i am really herxing on this stuff. i am feeling better, drinking lots of water and i found that ginger tea made from the root really helps with the dizziness/rocky boat stuff. sunshine helps too.

- What is your liver support? Magnesium is helpful.
GINGER capsules, too, for that vertigo is a much stronger therapeutic dose. Keep it going on schedule. Tea is good but the capsules much better if you can get them.
Zith can push the ear system so if you have any other ear symptoms, let your doctor know. If often settles down but some sort of liver support is vital when on zith to protect ears.
It's just that the usual one, milk thistle, is not the best liver supplement when taking mepron. Magnesium offers some help. Turmeric may, too. But ask your doctor for guidance.
