I'm wondering if the recurring nightmares that I'm having area Lyme related.

I have the same dream about once or twice a week that there is a person in our bedroom. I've been having this same dream for about 1-2 years now.

Is anyone else having nightmares, specifically the same one over and over?

I know that nightmares and/or vivid dreams are common with at least one of the TBD's, but I can't remember if it's specifically lyme or one of the others.

I also think I've heard that dreaming or awakening thinking there's someone in your room is a symptom of sleep paralysis, which I think is also common with TBD's.

As for my own experiences, I can't say that I have recurring nightmares, but I do have very vivid dreams.

I can't say that they have decreased with treatment, but then I have always had a tendency towards vivid dreams.

I have read many of us dream so vividly that sleep is disturbed to the point of not feeling like any

has sleep has occured. May be why we are so tired all the time.

Nightmares were common for me especially when on Biaxin high doses and during herxing.

YES to the Biaxin-nightmares connection for some people. I've researched this a bit and it seems to happen to non-TBD folks.

I just had a nocturnal imaginary encounter with an infestation of scorpions and cockroaches, so I feel for the rest of y'all. I think my nightmares were brought on by Strattera ADD drug, though, not Lyme treatment.

I have Lyme but no known or suspected coinfections (if they're there, they're hidden).

I have had a few nightmares and a lot of vivid dreams since I got infected last May.

Last night I felt like I started having one before I was even completely asleep.

I had TERRIBLE nightmares while on Biaxin. Had to take Ativan before bed. Once I stopped the meds, nightmares were gone.

I will be re-starting meds within the next month and I am soooo dreading the nightmares. I will have to refill my Ativan presecription [Frown]

My Biaxin nightmares went away the second time I took biaxin. I later had depression that was really bad, and that went away after I took a break from Biaxin. I've taken it for months after that with zero problems like this. It does seem to give me insomnia.

Here is the interesting part... I have not yet started on antibotics. I think it is the Lyme or coinfections taht are causing the bad dreams?

I'm have my first LLMD visit scheduled.

oh, that's entirely possible. All kinds of psychiatric issues, including anxiety and insomnia ones, can happen with Lyme. We tend to show up in sleep studies as having disrupted sleep, so I'm not at all surprised that nightmares might be part of the mix.

I believe Lyme can cause dream issues and sleep paralysis on its own.

I tend to get it worse when I'm sleeping on my back, so i try to sleep on my side more than anything.
