Anyone misdiagnosed with RA, or having RA also?
My husband has so many things wrong with him, at wits end. Been on treatment for RA, but it seems like he is just getting worse. Very frustrated.
Some of his symptoms

severe joint pain and swelling
pernicious anemia (b-12 deficiency)
short term memory loss
very emotional (recently cries over anything, never used to be like that)
mood swings
was told that his red blood cells are immature and large
light sensitivity
dry mouth/eyes (could possibly be side effect of medication he's on)
there's more, but those are the major ones. Dr. is treating for RA because a Lyme's test came back neg. After researching, need to get him tested correctly.
I have nine children, and about four of them have symptoms of Lymes. We live on 12 wooded acres, and my children are always out in the woods. I do my best at prevention, would love any tips on natural ways to prevent. I make the ones that can take pills take a garlic pill a day in the spring to fall months. And use natural bug spray. Since we have free range chickens, noticed that they don't get as many on them, it was like three a day I was finding, now it is an occasional one. We have many leaves on the ground, and are planning to do a controlled burn of the property this year. I can't believe what a scary and debillitating disease this is. And how many lives are destroyed by it.

I had consistently elevated rheumatoid factors, but not high enough (I don't think) to diagnose me with RA, and I've experienced symptoms similar to what your husband is experiencing.

I would recommend that you look into the following and compare your husband's symptoms to the charts below, as Lyme wasn't the only thing going on with me.

In fact, I woke up with memory problems again today, can't wear my contact lenses anymore for even 10 minutes because my eyes are so dry. I actually have both long and short term memory problems...can't even remember back to when my daughter was born.

Scroll to the symptoms box/list in both of these...

Lyme alone wasn't the problem with me. In fact, I think these exposures trigger the bugs.

Sounds like lyme to me. Which test did he have done..he needs to have western blot done. My Dr missed my lyme with TWO test done (elisa) until I took measures myself to see LLMD and get further testing done. ALL my lyme test from Ixgenx, lab corp AND Fry came back postive for lyme and co-infections.

Please do not give up. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE who can fight for this and get to the bottom of it. You probably already know that just because you have neg test many Drs go by symptoms. AND the general MD's usually WILL NOT consider it as to them a neg teat means a neg test....NOT SO!!!!!!!

Dont give it... Your familys health depends on YOU!!!! I didnt and I am better than I was a year ago... dont get me wrong I am still very sick but nevertheless better.

Good Luck and God Bless,

Karen (:

check out roadback.org - they're finding various other bugs that cause RA inflammation, and the medication for most of them is the same as for Lyme. I'm not sure if the dosages used are the same, they might be lower as Lyme is a very difficult bacteria to kill. Still, what they're saying makes a lot of sense and has very good science behind it as well as clinical experience.

I have Dx RA AND lyme. Salt/ C works for me. 28 days into the protocol with about 80 percent improvement with all lyme symptoms.
