I am on Zith for Lyme- it's been only a week so far- no problems- make sure to take with food. It can cause GI issues.

laurisa,

My experience thus far has been good on both Minocycline and Zithromax, but I'm not sure which one is doing more good for me.

I also had some kind of bronchitis or lung infection that has been clearing up with this, so that's an added plus which I'm giving the points to Zithromax on.

Otherwise, my peripheral vison and static field reduction has been the most notable symptom for me. Joint redness and inflammation reduced, cognitive thought improvement... All of this is listed in the thread below, "Drug Combinations - let's discuss"

My Bartonella did flare up from this combination, and you can find more detail in that thread.

I started with 300mg Zithromax, pulsed every other day for one week, and now I'm taking 600mg pulsed every other day with my Minocycline.

I'm doing well so far, but I am having minor herxing and flare-ups.

My assumption based on your past history and the others I've read on this board, is that once you've been on ABX for a while, you're reducing the germ load and therefore have less problems with the medications. I cannot verify this is true in fact, but that's what I think. Of course, you're going to find some people here who have the opposite experience.

From the sound of it, you've been light on the medication throughout your whole treatment. That's my protocol right now, but I plan on ramping this thing up hard over the next weeks and months into a strong combination of ABX and herbs. So I'm ready for whatever is coming to me. At this point, I can't live like this anyway.

My advice... Don't get bent out of shape about herxing and what could happen, this and that, etc... We all react differently, and the only way to find out if you're going to have success is to give it a shot yourself.

Posting your experience with this medication could help others decide if it's right for them as well.

Good luck to you.

I'm taking zith, doxy and bactrim DS. Zith was subtle by itself, little if any herx but when added to doxy or bactrim or flagyl shazaam things really start happening. Zith and doxy
work well together which surprised me since they are both protein synthesis inhibitors. Flagyl
is like nitroglycerin handle with care, use little and stand back. Zith and bactrim was
1,2 punch to Bart and seems to be helping reduce
Babs symptoms as a side benefit. I tend to take
the zithro everyday and sometimes take one or two days off due to upset tummy. That seems
to be the worst of it though.
