I asked to switch to Tindamax because I thought it had less side effects.
The drugstore info sheet states: WARNING: This medicine has rarely been associated with cancerous conditions in certain animals treated with it for long periods of time. Although this has not been shown in humans.
OMG! Which is worse? Risking cancer with Tindamax or permament neuropathy with flagyl?
I decided it best not to even read medication warnings....it will scare the crap out of you!

Look at the rxlist.com pages for tindamax. They have a lot of more detailed info there. I thought they basically said that Flagyl's associated with cancer in animals but not humans, and that they extend the warning to Tindamax and other related drugs just in case. I might have read that at the drugs.com site, though, not rxlist.

We are damned if we do and damned if we don't. I pulse tindamax twice a week. You could use plaquenil and risk your eyesight!

I am tapering up to 250mg three times a day. Since I have been on abx for over 8 months and never given a cyst buster until now, I don't know how many months I will be taking it daily.

I started seeing improvements from it (I think- I started roxithromycin about a week after I started tindamax) very quickly. I think it's a really good drug.

My doctor said that most of the patients at their lyme clinic have fewer side effects with tindamax than with flagyl. I'm taking tindamax and azrithromycin after about 8 months on other drugs and am finally getting significant results. The doc said that tindamax works better when used with azrithromycin.

I like both Tindamax and roxithromycin, but I've never used them together. I think that sounds like a good combo.

Tindamax and Ketek have been my abx for the last two months. The headaches I had initially are mostly gone, and for me, it is much better than flagyl which I took for 6 months a few years ago. The flagyl was the most difficult of any abx I have had to take, so tindamax seems mild compared to flagyl. I take 500mg twice a day. My LLMD has not yet let me try pulsing...sounds like a good thing to me!

I'm hoping the Tindamax will get rid of my daughter's headache. Tindamax is just for Lyme, right, since Lyme is the only TBI that goes into cyst form?
We just started it--pulsing twice a week--and no herxes or any noticeable reactions whatsoever--not so sure that is a good thing.
Hopefully she will not herx and just get better--which seems to be her norm so far!
