i have pain in both of my big toes.

it started in one toe two weeks ago and i was sure it had a different reason than my lyme disease.

now, as my second big toe also hurts, i am not so sure anymore. or could it be a another disease? has anyone else had pain in both big toes? i can barely walk.

i am on claforan IV at the moment.

Gout? ...is the first thing to come to mind reading your post. Pain, debilitating pain in the greater toes is a classic, first symptom.

Atleast a consideration.

Low testosterone could be another possibility.

steven, do a search on MD Diete Hassler from SW Germany. All his research says gout is actually borrelia bacteria (aka lyme).

I don't know about Steven, but I will be doing a search on MD Hassler. Thank you for this connection.

I have pain in my big toes, and other toes for that matter, that comes and goes.

Our daughter had pain in her big toe. We have been attributing every single one of her many problems to Lyme, although her MD did test her for gout.

In this case it turned out to be...a bone spur! An insert in her shoe took care of the pain.

My lyme started as pain in my toes. After an x-ray was sent to a podiatrist who tested me for gout. Took another x-ray and MRI. Turns out to be lyme. I know how you feel about thinking it might be something else. Everything new I notice I keep telling myself it is something else. Not lyme. But this past weekend my ankles just swelled up like they were when I first got lyme so I'm now convinsed they are all from the lyme. It's no fun to have pain in the feet, makes everything so diffeicult when you can't even stand without pain.

Thats how my Lyme started. It was all in my toes. Went from far two right toes, all into my two big toes. It comes and goes. I suggest a sole insert, it helps with mine.
