my 31 epitope band came back negative and still waiting for lyme appointment....in the meantime should I have the test done for pinpointing the virus or just concentrate on treating the lyme? Even though I have two other postive bands and with the 31 negative could lyme still be the culprit?

Jocelyn~
My approach is to test for lots of things and treat what is most obviously wrong. So, I have my doctors test me for everything they can think of that may be causing my illness. If everything comes back normal, I then start looking at the more obscure reasons for my symptoms, including infectious pathogens.

I have been tested for lyme, many tick borne co-infections, HHV-6, EBV, Cpn, enterovirus, HSV1, parovirus, VZV and others.

I'm treating what is most obviously wrong. And I'm seeing improvements in my health.

My suggestion would be to do the same. Rule out the obvious first...then go after the less obvious. Treat what looks most out of place.

If you are interested in viral testing, you can do a search using my member # and find some posts.

Good luck.
Best, Timaca

Many times after we start treatment the other virus' co-infections will be able to show up as

rashes, etc. I have at least one and that is most likely why my test was neg. And I did not get rash until I started treatment.

If you did not challenge I would take what I have and treat. It looked very positive to me.

(thanks to Kathy B at my state's lyme yahoo board).

This article discusses the mix:

I know Timaca replied above. In this thread of hers, you can find links to special labs, etc. for other stealth infections:
