I posted in Seeking Doctor....but I don't think many people look there and I'm not getting any responses...
My friend needs a doctor referral ASAP. She's in the hospital and she's in bad shape, and the doctors aren't sure what to do. She preferably would like to find a doctor that knows a lot about treating adrenal issues, because they tested her cortisol levels at the hospital and they were practically non-existent. The hospital had never seen anyone with cortisol that low before.
She lives in Pennsylvania...so a "holistic" or "integrative" MD or ND suggestion would be great. Thank you SO much.
And this can be moved or deleted if it's found to be inappropriate for medical. I just thought I'd give it a shot, since technically it is a medical issue, and she's desperate!

Hi, yes I'm in Lancaster, but I don't know of any physicians like this.
If you find one in the area, I'm interested in going to them.

So far I've found one in Philly that treats adrenal fatigue, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, autism, thryoid issues, hypotahalamus issues, heavy metal issues etc etc...all "integratively"...but I don't know if she's good because I just found her off of a google search...
I tried to look up info on Thomas Jefferson hospital but couldn't find anything about the integrative docs at the clinic!
Hmm...this is hard!

Did you try calling the Myrna Brind center? I'm not sure if they have Saturday hours, but they might. They probably would know which Dr would be a good fit for your friends adrenal issues.
here is a link to the Dr at the center http://tinyurl.com/yjh56du Posted by B4LYME (Member # 23222) on :
We have a health food/compound pharmacy near us. Maybe if you can find a good compound pharmacist in the area you can ask.
One integrative MD in Paoli or Near there in PA is Dr. M. He has a website and sometimes talks to patients on the phone in the mornings. He is also lyme literate. He is on some of the LLMD lists for PA.
Hope this helps.

Personally, I wouldn't choose a teaching hospital.
First the student doc comes in, you tell your story, then the student doc leaves and reports to the attending, then they both come in and you have to repeat yourself all over again. Then the attending tells the student what to do and so it goes.
A friend of mine had her first baby at Hershey Medical Center (teaching hospital) and the student doc left a clump of swabs in her vagina.
My husband had an abcess cut and drained at HMC also and the student doc cut in the wrong direction, causing the abcess to became a fistula which required surgery after months of problems. Not good.
