I woke up this morning and my left eye was acting weird as usual.

When I closed my right eye to see if I could figure out what was going on with my left eye, I realized that I can honestly no longer read anything with my left eye alone unless the print is extremely large.

Now, my left eye has always been lazy, and I have never really been able to see well with it anyway, but this is really getting scary.

I have talked to my LLMD about my eyes, and he basically says to talk to my eye doctor. The eye doctor "can't find anything wrong" and says if I think it's lyme-related I should talk to my LLMD.

I'm at my wit's end at the moment, we're kind of in between with insurance, so I don't want to be seeking out yet another specialist.

Has anyone had any luck with abx eyedrops? Do they do anything at all in helping with vision loss?

All my other eye sx seem to come and go from day to day, but I'm afraid that this is going to become permanent.

I have used abx eye drops for vision fluctuations/floaters and had some success. My LLMD prescribed them for me.

Sulfacetamide eye drops

Starfall I know a teacher who used colloidal silver

as eye drops for her MS dry eyes. Yes I know but I can't force it. The sulfa drops help some too. The

main help I think I got was getting the bacterial load down. I also use a heat pad some. I also open

my eyes in my epsom salts soaks. I figured it would burn but it is actually soothing. If you do

find something that clears it all up please let us know.

Starfall, have you tried any mangosteen juice yet? It stopped my eye problems. We're all different, so each of us has to find out if it works for us or not.

Think - we have an inflammatory illness - so to try remedies that combat inflammation -

noni juice and grapeseed extract are also good antioxidants -

maybe to start looking at a list of antioxidant supplements and start trying things -

Tried mangosteen with no real success. I'm planning to get a different brand tomorrow to see if it helps any.

Also going to call eye doctor and see if I can get in. I wonder if they can send me for an MRI to check for brain swelling.

I've been back on Rifampin for about 2 weeks. When I restarted Doxy, it seems that I had some head pressure issues that started up abruptly at about this time frame, even though I had no Doxy issues before that.

I see my LLMD next week, hoping I don't have to call him yet again before I go in.

Starfall,

I can't remember what I say to whom, but my son has had eye issues and although I am no doctor, I truly believe his Bart is effecting this.

How about 3 months Levaquin? That's what Burrascano put me on.

Fish oil is also good for the brain and eyes. I would hope your LLMD orals would eventuallly resolve this. Ehe have had similiar issues about who would treat, but I think you are treating it, you may just need more time or a different drug.

You may also want to go to a Vision Therapist. Different from an Optometrist in most cases unless they specialise in this. New York Stony Brook has a good VT dept that's NORAD knowledgeable. They may be able to diagnose what part of your vision is going and while you're on meds, prescribe a VT therapy. My son has a computer program he used for 5 months. It's HTS iNet Computerized Home therapy system.

I'm sorry about the eyes. I feel so bad for my little guy. the eyes are such a compromise.

Hugs,

2roads

Wow, I had a major bad headache this afternoon, almost felt migraine-like. I wonder if that has anything to do with restarting the Rifampin 10 days ago, and also with the vision thing.

After I restarted the Doxy a few months ago I got major headaches/pressure about 2 weeks later, and it took awhile to clear up.
