Its been a long time. I am concerned about my youngest daughter. She has been having medical problems over the last six months. I have not researched Lyme in a while and never really quite got a grasp of the WB bands. I had her tested through quest. The bands give no negative or positive signs just numbers. I get conflicting answers over various web pages so I thought I would come here and ask the experts [Big Grin]

Are you sure ? If it only has (*) after each one, then they are negative.

What lab did the test?

Lyme is a clinical dx based on symptoms. Also check out the symptoms for parasites and worms which can be causing her symptoms.

www.humaworm.com

has a list of symptoms you can check. Something is obviously wrong if she is having medical problems. Pathogens are usually the cause.

I would not take anyone's test as written in stone for Lyme and esp. not in children.

Some choose to do a antibiotic challenge and test with a tick specific lab like Igenex or just go see a LLMD to do this.

I challenged a small amount for my daughter and she produced enough specific bands that I felt based on symptoms to treat. Her headaches are gone.

Can you describe her symptoms? I would read some of the symptom lists here to see if you recognize more symptoms.

My 3 young children have been in treatment and are much improved. Only one had a positive test before treatment. I would also do searches on this site for "child" or "children" and "symptoms" to see what comes up about children's symptoms.

She is having trouble sleeping. Getting sick to her stomach every night sometimes vomiting, very emotional and quick tempered. Joint pain. She has been diognosed with reflux but I was diognose reflux on my initial infection.

Me, my husband and my son all have been diognosed and treated. I am in relapse and seeing Dr. J next week but I thought If her results looked positive I would see if I could get her in too since I am traveling that far.

Yes, sounds very much like it could be Lyme and co. And you know it often seems to hit the entire family, as it did with my family of 5. That fact that the rest of you had it is a big red flag to me.

Insomnia was a big symptom in my children. They finally sleep the entire night and don't whine in their sleep and only rarely have nightmares now.

One of my boys would vomit when his babesia was really bad. He was also very emotional. You might want to check her forehead about 2 hours after she is sleeping to see if she is having night sweats. Is she tired all of the time - just wants to sit around? In my experience, that was babesia too.

The quick temper and stomach issues can be bartonella, as my kids had that too.

You probably know all of this already, as you are not a novice, as I can see from the number of posts you have!

Glad you are going to see Dr. J next week - hope you can get her in.

Softballmom - It sounds very much like your daughter has TBD; Lyme & possible co-infect(s). Do the abx challenge, or whatever Dr. J. says is the best way to find out. Preferably, she will get started on tx right away.

If you and the rest of your family have been infected, then, it's almost absolute that your daughter is also.

Best of luck to you all.

I was praying that my little one would escape this. My son has had serious problems over the years and has seen the other Dr. J. He is a great baseball player and his 2nd week of middle school ball his ankles started hurting him so bad he could hardly walk. Now he has to ware some orthopaedic things on both feet. He is doing better.

My 18 year old daughter appears to be the only one who has escaped this. She tested negative at Dr. J's office and has no symptoms.

I am calling today to get her an appointment. I may move mine to a later date so we wont have to make two trips.

Thank you all for the info and Lymetoo its been a long time hope you are well.
