I just puled a tick off my 7 year old this morning. It was still fairly small so I do not think it was on her for very long. What can I do for new tick bite? Should I do anything other than observe the spot? I was recently diagnosed with Lyme thus..I am fearful of any tick bites. Please advise this fearful mama! Don't want my daughter to go through the things that I have.

Can you call your LLMD and see what he/she suggests?
I think they give amoxy to children .. but I'm not privy to dosages or length of time for that.

My LLMD says if you pull an attached tick off, to immediately do a round of antibiotics and that should take care of it. Need to start ASAP. He suggest zith, but not sure for a child. Thank goodness you saw it!

I would bag it and freeze just in case you need it
later. It may help you find what all it had if she
gets sick.

Definitely get her on a month of abx. I did not and paid the price with my children, who have been in treatment for almost 2 years.
Amox or azith I think would be appropriate, but check with your doc.

Your LLMD, if you have one, should have told you this.
I am amazed at all the questions posted here that should have been answered by DOCTORS! Why do we pay these people?
Our health care system is far more broken than advertised.

Contact your physician (LLMD). They will advise. Keep the tick if you can. A plastic bag labeled with the date and location. Monitor the bite site between now and seeing the physician. Take photos if anything becomes evident.
