My ND suggests that I try this. He says that if I feel better for several days afterwards, that I'm probably just mildly deficient of mag.

If I only feel better after the I.V. for a day or so, that I'm very Mag. deficient.

I'm currently taking 300mg. of oral mag, and about 6 to 8 squirts of mag. oil a day.

I don't know about only magnesium. But yesterday my friend had an IV of Vit C,B5,B6, B12, B-Complex, Magnesium, Pantothenic Acid.

What she told me was within 15 mins on IV she was able to take deep breaths with no problem. She was able to do the grocery shopping after the IV.

I did not know how she is doing now.

Well, I had my first mag. i.v. Monday. My ND said that I must be very deficient because as it was dripping in, he turned it up to see if I'd get "woozy", light headed, etc.

It didn't really affect me much at all. He said that was very atypical, meaning my mag. level is really low.

I'm due to get some more i.v. mag, once a week, and continue taking the oral and transdermal mag oil for awhile until the levels get up to normal.

I felt great after the i.v. Monday until about 12 hours later, then went to bed. I got up this morning, and felt really tired all day.

He said that was another indication that the levels were very low. If the mag. levels were more in range , I should have felt better for maybe a few days or more.

Anyone else with I.V.Mag. experience?

I had a series of IV magnesium drips a couple of years ago. If cost was not a factor, I would still get them to keep my levels in the normal range. I have some issues with hypertensive muscles and it did relax them to a more tolerable extent. I recall that the first couple of times I was really sleepy driving home.

I used to use IV magnesium 2x per week after IV antibiotics. It was very helpful to me for muscle twitching and calming Lyme anxiety.

It can make you feel warm (flushed) which is normal.

Too much can make you tired and sleepy.

Eventually, after IV I did Mag sulfate shots for a year which helped as well.
