I read the previous posts on stem cells. My lyme doctor is doing adult stem cell transplants. They take your own blood and send it to San Diego and they make up to a trillion stem cells from your blood and put it back in you. The treatment consists of 3 sessions a few weeks apart. Has anyone done adult stem cell transplant from their own blood as a treatment for Lyme? If so, how did it work for you?

- I've read of a couple lyme patients who had good experiences with this being done in India. You might search the archives for that thread. Sometime within the past year, I think. It would be good to see if there is follow-up somewhere (although I bet they are tired of people asking them all the time if they STILL feel good). -----
I would be interested in your results if you do this. I'm sure everyone else would be also.
Do you know the name of the company in San Diego that does it?
I live in San Diego.
Sounds fascinating.
Thanks

thank you everyone for your responses. the company is called Moraga Biotech. although i am finding as i do research that there are also "adult stem cell clinics" that do this stem cell transplants that use your own blood to make more stem cells. i thought the company was in San Diego but I may be mistaken.
I also found a clinic in Panama City, Panama that does this for those suffering from autoimmune diseases with success. It is my feeling that Lyme is at the basis of all autoimmune disease anyway.
right now, my doctor has quoted me a price of $9000 for three treatments which are three weeks apart.
I plan on starting in 1-2 months. I will make sure to post as I begin the process. Blessings to all,

Hey Snagirl -- how far along in treatment are you -- ie; why does your doc think that now would be a good time to do this?
And would you do it for immune repair or other reason/s?
Posted by snagirl (Member # 16196) on :
I haven't started treatment yet. It's just that I had such a bad herx on mepron and zithromax that i told him I was done with abx. I also talked with him about the Hansa Center and he told me to take that 5k and put it towards stem cells instead. He thought I would get more for my money with the stem cells.
He suggested it for immune repair and cellular repair too.
