So I received my LabCorp results last week that had 2 "abnormal" bands (band 23 & 39). Well my lyme friendly doc is re-testing me thru Igenex but the results will take about 2 more weeks. It seems my symptoms have been acting up more recently....more migraines, back pain, ear pain, nausea, diarrhea, etc. Should I wait to get my Igenex results before I go see a real LLMD or should I just schedule an appt with the LLMD now based on LabCorp results?????

What would you guys do????? I just want to start feeling better soon =(

On 31 March you received one or more suggestions from your post in "Seeking a Doctor" - good you've already posted. For further advice, seek out your local support groups.

So, call TODAY and schedule an appointment as soon as you can with an ILADS-educated LLMD. I stress ILADS-educated. It will likely be a while before you can get in but ask them to call you if someone else cancels.

Be sure to have a copy of your tests but you need not wait for Igenex. You have a positive test already. Just not CDC positive but that is nearly impossible. The CDC does not want to identify lyme.

With symptoms such as yours and even your first test, you have reason enough to get to a LLMD as soon as possible. You will need to also be assessed for other tick-borne infections.

To save others a lot of time explaining the test results, I see that in two previous threads of yours, you received good replies. I'll post excerpts so that others will know what your knowledge base is - so they don't have to repeat.

We know that you've gotten the message and two key links to material that is very valuable to your knowledge base. Dr. B's guidelines have excellent self-care advice that you will need to start following right now.

Good luck.

One person replied: "You will note that he says the band 39 is lyme specific and band 23 is also lyme specific...it is Outer surface protein C.

Only a person exposed to lyme would make those antibodies."

Another wrote: " Both bands are Lyme specific."

schedule the appt- it may take months to see them anyway- usually a long wait

Are those IGM bands? If so that would be a CDC positive result.

Actually though, Lyme Disease is a "clinical" diagnosis.

I don't see the reason to re-test!
