Does this happen to anyone else?

It is not night sweats as I don't sweat but I wake up in the middle of the night, sometimes as soon as I am falling asleep and I feel like my body temperature is way out of wack.

I am so hot that I feel like I am going to burst. Nothing cools me down but time.

It wakes me up, or maybe I wake up first and then I am wide awake for over an hour until my body finally cools down.

I am also ravenously hungry when this happens and I get a severe headache that lasts until mid morning.

I have taken my temperature during these "spells" and it us usually 97.0.

When I do wake up in the morning I am always hot, hot, hot for a couple of hours. No sweating.

My body temperature is usually up to 98.7 by mid morning.

I do have hypoglycemia and since getting lyme my sugar levels are all off and also my adrenal glands are fatigued.

I take 5HTP and cortisol manager at night which has helped some.

I am still being treated for lyme and co-infections by a LLMD (6 years now) and I am much better.

Just these symptoms are really worrying me.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

You may need your Female/Male hormones checked.

Many of us are low in many hormones and replacement with what is lacking could help.

Sounds like menopause but could also be testosterone low.

I've been getting hotflashes like this but they're pretty short--5-10 minutes. I almost always wake up at 4 a.m. with it and a super ick feeling. My measured temperature is also normal or a little low when it happens.

It's a little too soon for me for menopause and it's only started up since about a month ago--since starting a new abx regimen. Is your period irregular? Mine couldn't keep a schedule with a Swiss watch!

Could it be something other than hormones, I wonder?

I have had my hormones checked and I am on progesterine and adrenal creams as those were way off.

This has gotten better with lyme treatment but now it is even worse because of the isomnia along with it!

It most likely is menapause and lyme together which has been one of my biggest problems ever since getting lyme disease.

I have always treated the hormones and tried to keep them in check so I would know that anything else weird was from the lyme.

Dr was more concerned about my sugar levels and she thinks that I am having an adrenaline rush during the night.

I am hypoclycemic so that kind of makes sense but I just want it to stop!!

How or what do you do to regulate the body temperature?

Is your brain getting mixed signals?

I just need it to stop!

I finally have returned to work after being out for 17 months and now I'm not getting enough sleep and its taking a toll on me!

The lyme got way worse when I went back to work and so did the nightime body heat.

Thanks for the input. Has anyone figured out how to stop this?
