Scott- wondering if you or someone else can answer this question.
I heard Dr. K was going to start to offer stem cell treatments. Can anyone verify if Moraga is the technology he is using?
I'd love to see Dr. K but too ill to travel that far. Dr. K would offer alot of credibility to me if Moraga are the treatments he is going to offer.
There is a local doctor who is going to offer Moraga treatments.
Is Dr. K seeing success?
Researching all options given how ill I am.

I don't think stem cell therapy is allowed in the US (not FDA approved). I haven't heard that it has changed. Maybe I'm wrong?
You have to go outside of the country to get stem cell therapy. Some doctors arrange trips for their patients to go outside of the country to get the treatment. Some supervise or approve of the particular hospital doing the procedure & make arrangements for the trips.
I don't know if Dr. K is doing this. I am curious about it & would like to know.

My doc is using Moraga. It is your own stem cells, harvested from your own blood. Several companies are doing this in the US. We just can't do umbilical and embryonic here, but you can do your own. My docs group of patient results has apparently been mixed.....

Interesting. I have heard about using your own harvested stem cells but I didn't think it was FDA approved here.
I heard there have been good results with using your own stem cells in heart disease but I haven't heard anything specific to Lyme or co-infections.
I would think you would need to find someone with immunity & use their stem cells... I don't know if that's allowed here, though. Someone did this in Germany with an HIV patient with leukemia & it worked! They've been *cured* for over 10 years.
I'm not sure if the reinserted stem cells were genetically modified. I know they did find some people who had a natural immunity to HIV...
You would probably have to have very accurate testing to determine the exact cause of your particular illness... Just an educated guess.

I do not believe that Dr. K is offering this option at present.
I am personally considering the Moraga option as a next step, but waiting for more feedback from other people currently doing it.
CD57's information appears correct. Autologus stem cells are not a problem in the US to my knowledge.

There is also a guy in Southern Ca doing stem cells from your own bone marrow. My doc is also sending some people to Mexico for umbilical (I think) stem cells.

They are doing autologous stem cell recovery at Stanford Hospital after chemo therapy for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. A family member is in the Blood and Marrow Transplant program.

Scott- please PM if you get any additional input on Moraga since I'm considering it as one of many options for my MS type lyme.

You can email me privately if you like. I don't PM on Lymenet. Take care.
