I read somewhere that while on Doxy you shouldnt take magnesium. Does anyone have any insight on this?? I have air hunger and i heard magnesium helps with it. I just dont want to take it if it will interfere with doxy. Can anyone help???

They should be spaced 2 hours apart.

Magnesium, dairy products, iron, antacids, calcium, minerals and many other things affect doxy.

If you don't have the insert that came with the prescription, why not call the pharmacist and discuss this or get another insert from the pharmacist.

Here is a website that talks about all the interactions:

http://www.drugs.com/mtm/doxycycline.html

But, it doesn't say how far away from the doxy you can take these things.

My lyme doc mentioned all this to me when he gave me doxy, but it was so long ago, I don't remember how far apart they must be spaced. Best to check with a pharmacist.

If you take any of these things, they will interfere with the absorption of the doxy.
