Hey Everyone-

I know we've discussed rashes a lot on this board. I was wondering if anyone besides me gets really small, non-itchy pimple-like rashes on their chest or face? (sorry to be graphic) but you can actually squeeze kind of white substance out of them). It's definitely not acne, though.

They cropped up while I was doing HBOT. Now they are cropping up again after taking Vitamin D, magnesium, and whey protein.

Anyone have this and know how to care for your skin??? Astringent?

Thanks!!!!

My daughter has these and she is obsessed with squeezing them. She has scabs and scars all over her upper arms and chest.

I'd like to know what others suggest also.

Yes, I have these as well.

They crop up and leave.

I use Kosmea facial wash on my face, and rosehip oil. This helps.

I was told by a prominent LLMD that this is a symptom of Babesia. I'm not convinced, but I believe it is a symptom of one or many of the Tick Borne Vectors.

Best wishes,

CBL.

I had this as I was ending Doxy treatment. Not sure what it was. It did go away on its own, but took a few months.

i have had the same problem since starting doxy!

Me too. I've had these bumps show up in batches on my face, forearms, below my knees, and back. (Thankfully, not all at the same time!)

Each outbreak lasts a couple of months.

I didn't get them until after I started treatment, and they've dropped off after more than a year.

I think maybe this is the same thing I get on my chest and on the back of the arms (I can't see the one on the back of my arms but I can feel it). I thought maybe it was just my sensitive skin.

I have been plagued by these for years, especially on my chest.

I have been to a LOT of dermatologists but no one knew what it was, although I was told it was not acne and probably due to "nerves" or "stress".

It is such an embarassing problem. Last year, at my first LLMD appt he looked at them and immediately diagnosed Bartonella.

They stayed with me all through treatment until I started on Factive. Then, they started to go away. After stopping Factive, they returned.

I am on several other abx presently and he stopped the Factive for that reason.

LeeLee,

I'm interested in how your skin responded to Factive. When I started Factive, I got unusually large blemishes on my back. They were disgusting, I would worry about them rupturing and staining my clothes.

It was as if the medication was causing gunk to boil out of me. It was the worst when I first started the Factive, then over a period of 6 months, the huge blemishes got smaller and less frequent.

I also am no longer on Factive, I think my LLMD felt it had done what it could for me, as I did several rounds of it including a solid 30-day stint.

Thanks for all of the responses; for what it's worth, my LLMD prescribed Clindamycin gel to put on them....didn't work at all....

It's so odd to me why they appear across my chest and sometimes on my neck....why the same place? why that area? Weird....

Here's one link to a condition called Pityrosporum Folliculitis, a condition in which yeast on the skin causes an acne-like rash. It can be brought on or exacerbated by oral antibiotics. One of my friends in Lyme treatment has this. I'm trying to get her to go to the dermatologist to get it cultured.

I have had these since I started Doxy. What Boxermom posted is right. Read It;)

Thanks for that post, BoxerMom, that's helpful to have a picture of what a yeast rash looks like...

Unfortunately (or fortunately really I guess) that's not the rash I'm referring to....The one I thought we were all discussing looks more like very small raised bumps with some of them containing almost a hardened white substance (it's definitely not acne and it's not itchy)....

I've tried benadryl cream and antibiotic cream on it to no avail....

I have on occsaion gotten this with certain abx but am still getting it while not on abx; however, I'm using magnesium and Vitamin D which can cause detox....it goes away if I stop the mag and vitamin D

If anyone has any "detox" rash photos they can find, I would love to see those....I've searched for detox rashes on the internet and couldn't find one.....

I have these too, on my chest, specifically the boobs and between. It changes in severity depending on what abx I'm taking. Never thought to ask about it or make it go away.

I have those red, pimple like rashes on my chest. It just apppears almost overnight, stays for couple months, then goes away.

Been going on for 2 years now. PCP & Dermatologists both say they don't know what it is or what causes it.

I have always associated it with TBD----but it is the least of my symptoms.

Hey guys-

For what it's worth, I picked up some Bentonite Clay from Whole Foods as I heard that is supposed to detoxify clogged pores. I'll let you know if it helps....

Thanks for all the responses; at least I know I'm not alone...thanks for sharing....

I also get these bumps on my chest, neck and shoulders.

It's my understanding that it's from yeast. I haven't done much research into it, but I can tell you that I had it most of the time I've been on abx, regardless of which abx I was taking.

I was off abx for a period of 4 months and the rash did go away during that time. After 2 months back on abx, it reappeared.
