i understand that a lot of germs invade through the mouth.
my dentist said you should have your teeth cleaned every six months, so i'm due today at 3:30.
will help lyme by getting your teeth cleaned, i mean, besides the dental thing.
i use colgate and floss regularly, and use listerine (man, it burns).
but is there anything else i can do? i can't afford to have all these fillings taken out.

- I find Herb Pharm's Spilanthes-Usnea tincture for oral use far better for me than the harsh Listerine. If something burns, it's best not to use it as that just irritates the tender tissue more.
A waterpik is excellent to help prevent gum problems. Gum infections can lead to heart problems, so even more of a reason to keep the mouth clean.
Some people who have gum disease need dental cleaning 4 x a year. Whatever the dentist suggests.
In addition to a Waterpik, a Sonicare electric toothbrush has really helped me.
Most toothpastes have sodium laurel sulfate and other really harsh chemicals. My dentist suggests just BAKING SODA. After rinsing my brush in water, I sprinkle some on and let it dissolve a bit so it won't scratch tooth enamel. Brush. Floss. Brush again. Then Waterpik.
It's seems unlikely but with Waterpik use, there is evidence that brushing twice and flossing just did not get all food particles out from the gums. A Waterpik is a tool equal to a brush and floss.
Midday, I "swish" plain water with some force and spit out every so often, especially after eating. -

Rinsing your mouth out with water after each meal is good advice. We do that here too.
I have been wanting a water pik for sometime now.

???? Why are you worried about having all your fillings out?
Don't understand the whole question... sorry... can you explain?

Most fillings = some MERCURY !

yeah, i have been told most of my mouth is all fillings that are really old.
i can't remember but there was a ton of posts on here about getting old fillings taken out cause of the mercury and other stuff they made them with.
but man i can't afford a couple of hundred dollars for say 10 teeth or more.
i'm doing good for one bridge and that costs me over 1500 bucks. and no insurance won't pay for any dental.
