I took my son to the ER the other night... they ran a myriad of tests to see what might be causing
his neurological symptoms. The only thing I walked away knowing was that he has a heart murmur.
The doctor thought that maybe he had a tiny stroke that caused the behavior, but his
CAT scan came out clear.
This murmur was not detected when he had chest pains, palpitations, and racing heart 7 years ago.
I wonder if it's new. Has anyone developed a murmur from lyme?

Wow... that's something.
I was born with one and never heard another word about it as an adult until I was about 30. The only reason the dr heard it was that I was lying down when he checked me.
Lyme can indeed affect the heart... I have more problems now than just MVP.
How old is your son?

When I was initially diagnosed with Lyme, my ID
doc detected a murmur. I had never been told I
had one before this time. I still have it as
well as tachycardia. At rest my heart rate can
be 130's, 140's.

Hi..sorry to take so long to reply. He is 14.
The lying down thing makes sense. My son was lying down when they listened to his heart because he had severe vertigo at the time.
