1. Monolaurin (lauric acid) 600mg's 2 caps 2x per day 2. Nutiva Extra-Virgin Coconut Oil (almost 50% lauric acid by volume) 1-3 tablespoons per day 3. Nattokinase (a potent fibrinolytic enzyme) 100mg's 1-3 times per day 4. InterFase Plus (broad-spectrum enzyme formula w/EDTA) 2 caps 3x/day on an empty stomach 5. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid - Not buffered, as most of these contain metals) 500mg's 4x/day

Does lauric acid dissolve biofilms? I know it has other antimicrobial qualities, but I hadn't heard about dissolving biofilms.

I don't know if it is necessary to take both Natto and Lumbro. I think the Lumbrokinase is more potent that the Nattokinase. That is one of the differences.
Thanks for the article. This guy is not too far from where I live. Maybe I'll pop in for a discussion about biofilms.

Bolouke is the best lumbrokinase...expensive though.
Why don't you want to take it everyday?

My LLMD has me on Allergy Research brand of Nattokinase.

lymetoo,
Because I wanted to take it on days i was taking binders/chelation supps.

Today at the University of New Haven Conference, one of the presenters, Dr. W, said everyone should be on exactly what Lymetoo said...Bolouke brand Lumbrokinase. My notes are still in the car but I can write the exact information tomorrow. He also recommends everyone drink a Lyme tea and gives the recipe. Those were his two "musts" for supplement/herbal type things.

Can I use a doctor's name in this context?
Posted by canefan17 (Member # 22149) on :
tracy,
did he specify how much and when to take?

I have been on Bulouke for awhile. Dr F gave it to me first off and I started with 1 tablet 3 times a week to see how I would react. Now my 2nd doctor put it on the list too.. and a 3rd doc mentioned it. It seems to be the most popular to recommend in my circles.
I was going through intensive treatment at that time and it turned out to be quite easy to work up to 1 x a day 7 days a week and then 1 2x a day and now I am at 1 3x a day. I am sure you can do more and I am assuming it would go up to like 3 3x a day or so? Do not quote me on that.
I really cant afford more .. LOL
I think it is a great product. I though have added things like ACV tablets and Wobenzyn and EDTA it ampifies the affect. So I think you have to feel out what works for you and also build up from there. I think combinations of things is a good idea.
I recently came across another article that had a list of biofilm busting chine3se herbs and Not sure where I saw it now. Most herbs I did not recognize but I can be that they are powerful.
There is a growing list of items to be used and more and more doctors prescribing these sorts of things to take for lyme treatment.

According to my LLMD, Lumbrokinase is used to reverse strokes. It is a very potent systemic enzyme that works more in the brain than others. He wants any of his Lyme patients who have mental or neuro symptoms to be on it.
I took it for about 6 months.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Cass A

What is the lyme tea recipe? Thanks.
Posted by Tracy9 (Member # 7521) on :
I promise to post it!!! Slept all day today and will do it tomorrow. It is the Buhner herbs, he has pts buy them in bulk and then make a tea. He says it works great but you won't see effects for 2-3 months. It is a slow yet steady result. He does it this way because it is effective yet cheap!

I'll have to check my notes to see about dosage on the Lumbrokinase. See the UNH conference thread also; you can buy the CD of the entire conference, all powerpoint presentations for only $10.

I can't seem to locate where to buy Bulouke brand lumbrokinase. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is it different than serrapeptase?
Anyone out there taking zyactinase? I am taking nattokinase, serrazimes (NOW brand, similar to serrapeptase), and nattokinase?
Can I get EDTA over the counter, health food store, or does that need to be doctor's prescription?
Personally, I would want to take it on days you're NOT taking binders or chelates.
I used to take it everyday.

No. We never use any practicing LLMD's name on the board in any context.

I took the Bulouke for a while. It's quite expensive. I didn't feel any different but my bloodwork showed that it was less sticky.
It's kind of odd to take earthworms for a tick borne illness. It kind of had a yuck factor. It would be nice to see if there are any better alternatives.
Maybe the nattokinase, serrapeptase, other herbs, enzymes...? How about Triphala? There were some people here who were very excited about this for bio-films...
Evaluation of antimicrobial efficacy of herbal alternatives (Triphala and green tea polyphenols), MTAD, and 5% sodium hypochlorite against Enterococcus faecalis biofilm formed on tooth substrate: an in vitro study.
excerpt-
RESULTS: Qualitative assay with 3-week biofilm showed complete inhibition of bacterial growth with Triphala, MTAD and NaOCl, except GTP and saline, which showed presence of bacterial growth.
