So this is day three of these two longish streaks one on either side of my spine. Do these look like Bart marks to anyone? I've read before about someone having them along their spine.
They don't hurt, don't itch. I didn't even know there were there until my hubby pointed them out to me.
I stopped my abx 7 days ago, in preparation for my parathyroid surgery this coming Wednesday. I was on Minocycline with Zith being pulsed.
We have suspected that I might have Bart but test after test has come back neg.
Should I just not say anything about this to my endocrine surgeon? He already knows I have chronic Lyme... I mean, this can't hurt my having surgery can it? Why would Bart marks come up NOW after I've been on ABX for over two years? Well first of all... does anyone even think this is Bart? (ignore the marks going around my middle.. it's from my bra) Posted by jarjar (Member # 8847) on :
I've had streaks somewhat like that on my stomach and presumed they were bart related but then again I'm not a LLMD.

Could be. Also looks like scratch marks. I had similar looking marks early in my illness before I knew I had LD and never knew what they were. They kept showing up and I thought I was somehow scratching myself.

Honestly, they look like irratation from your bra snaps. Are you allergic to any metals? Was there a tag that was irratating you sometime in the near past? Bart lines are more purple-ish and tend to run against the skin lines. Radiate out from the spine instead of running parallel to the spine as yours are.

It's not a bra actually. It's all cloth like a cammi. No tags, no metals, no plastic. And bra straps don't go along either side of my spine anyways Hmmm...

It could be atypical lyme rash just starting.

Well... it's still there. It's more purple in person (without a flash). It hasn't changed at all, hasn't lightned. I did have a strange rash a year or so back that was in the shape of a perfect triangle on my side. My LLMD said it was a Lyme EM rash. You could be right Pinelady.

To me, it looks like it could be a Bart rash. But you would obviously have to eliminate other possibilites. I can see the "bart" in it though. Doesn't the Bart rash normally go north to south like that?

Checked again today and it's darker and the right side has spread longer about half an inch. Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't cause anymore CNS symptoms than what I already have.
Does anyone know... if you have Bart, and the rash shows up, are you more likely to test positive on a test for it?

I had the rash last summer-it lasted about a month. I would have streaks one my back a week then my hip-stomach-got them all over trunk area -then they were gone!!
Mine also itched. My mom (an RN) convinced me it was scabies so I went to the derm who was clueless as to what it was (not scabies). Said it was atypical dermatitis......
I didnt find out I had Lyme till Dec 09- 4 months later. Im still testing negative for ALL the co-infections and the LLMD won't treat for bart even though I have all the symptoms, time for a new DR. I guess.
