I have been on mepron almost six weeks. At first it was ok then the herx. Which included fever, chills, flushing.

Since then it's changed. Whenever I take mepron I get leg cramps, it kills the tendons in the backs of my legs.

this has been happening for over a week. I decided to do a little test. I stopped it in the evening just to see if it's the meds or not.

In the morning, the cramps were gone and no more tendon issues.

I know that mepron is tough for people evening according to my llmd.

I have researched and found that these are not issues of babs. If they are then someone tell me.

I just added some more magnesium a little while ago. We'll see if that helps.

Any insight, thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'm also getting a lot more weepy and don't if it's from the mepron or being concerned about the cramps.

Other than that I feel ok. Just had the flare end from the babs today. I'm a tad tired but ok otherwise.

Please help me. Janice

Hi Janice,

I'm sorry to hear about your hard time your having. Are you taking anything other than the Mepron? Mepron made me feel very weepy. It did eventually go away. I'm not sure about the muscle cramping, I had that stuff in the very begining of my treatment which did go away within the first 6 mo. of treatment, I can't remember what all antibiotics I used. I think I started with Doxy. I hope you feel better soon. Think healing thoughts [Smile]

Hi,
I'm taking mepron/zith, art, and plaqunil.

I also took doxy which gave me fatigue, nausea,.

Thanks for the kind words.

You can take magnesium until you get the runs (if you know what I mean).

Then back off of it until you reach normal again.

Maybe add some calcium into your mix as well.

Hugs,

Geneal

jv, I'm only on week 2 of mepron so I can't really say what's going on but maybe it's herx stuff? Hang in there. I just had a 4 day mepron bomb so I'm in your club o' pain and suffering!

I've taken Mepron long term and it is tough on the body...it is the way it kills the bugs, it runs you down a bit too. It should go back to normal again when you are off Mepron though.

Hi,
did it make you weak in the knees and tired?

I'm thinking of asking the doctor to change as I need to work and pay bills.

This is brutal.
