What triggers or worsens your feelings of unreality? I am making a master list so that I can begin to eliminate the possible problems.
For me, potential triggers are:
1. caffeine
2. anxiety
3. lack of sleep
4. lack of breathing (e.g., concentrating or anxious, not taking deep breaths)
5. sugar crash
Hopefully this helps others out there as well. I look forward to comments or other possible trigger suggestions.

- The VESTIBULAR system ( inner and middle ear) is often affected by lyme and by some medications. When the ears are affected, vision can be affected, one's proprioceptor receptors are off kilter and can make a person not sure of where they are in space. And on and on - and on.

Recently I have had a run of tragedies and that leaves me feeling disconnected as if things are not real. So I would say shock is a big one. Also getting sick, even with something other than lyme etc, brings on fear that I am relapsing which leads to the disconnected unreal feelings. I guess any strong negative emotion does this to me.
