Hi! My name is Sam and I was treated for Lyme. I stopped treatment last June and have been feeling great. On Thursday, my daughter and I both had a tick on us! Talk about a horrible feeling... she got hers at school and I got mine walking into her school! The ticks were on us for a few hours also they were not engorged and easy to pull out. I sent them both express mail to Clongen Labs and had them tested. I had the results the next day. Her tick tested positive for Lyme and mine for Bartonella. She is 3 years old and I started her on ABX within 36 hours of the bite. I also was started on ABX within the same time frame. I am currently being treated by my primary doc. I called my LLMD and he is out of town this week. I left a message for him. Any advice? I feel as though I am doing what I can. I have the Doxycycline for 10 days. I read in The Lyme Disease Solution that it is best to take Doxy for 10-14 days after a bite and that sometimes it can fight off Bart?? SInce the tick was not on u long are our chances good? Also, what else can I do? My little girls is on Ammox for 2 weeks. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Sam

Hi Sam,
Finding it difficult to read a long paragraph. Gonna break up to help us read your post.

Are you taking 200 mg twice daily of doxy like a LLMD would prescribe? or only the 100 mg twice daily that non-LLMD's prescribe?
I'm sure others will be along with more questions/suggestions.

At my last appt I asked my LLMD what I should do if me or my kids are bit. The answer was pretty much exactly what you did and the treatments you received. Other people may think more, but this is what I was told.
My understaning is also that Dox can treat Bart.
The question I would ask my own doctor is if I should treat longer, given my history of infection in the past. It sounds like you have enough med to get you through until he gets back.
If it were me, I'd be nervous, but feel comfortable that I'm doing what I can. The only other thing I would do is start a probiotic. GL.

I think what you are doing is more than sufficient given the circumstances.

Thanks, I continued taking probiotics after I stopped ABX last
summer. I did just order some Florastor though. My little girl is on
probiotics too. I am on 100mg of Doxy 2x a day. I am hoping that
will do until I talk to my LLMD next week. Swallowing that doxy 2x
