Hi I am 6'1 and I now weight 139 lbs. I lost weight because of the Lymes Diet I believe, but no matter how much I eat I cannot gain any of the weight back. I am eating a lot of food to. Does anyone have any recommendations of what I can do to gain some weight back? Thanks in advance...

That seems too skinny. Not sure I'd stay on the 'Lyme' diet given that issue. Posted by Dretta17 (Member # 24883) on :
well...Here's the thing. I have always had an incredibly fast metabolism. I used to eat mcdonalds and all that junk and never gained any weight. Without clothes I probably weighed about 147 lb's or so before the lymes diet...

Maybe your digestion now is bad because of medication that you are taking.
So consider taking some enzyme if you see food on your stool not digested properly.
I think everybody with lyme should take whey protein, and D-riboze, phosphatidylcholine ,B12,allot of juice. Take care

I am not on medication, doctor is treating me with supplements such as catsclaw right now, and things to boost my immune system...

Maybe you're not eating right or enough. You should keep track of what you eat .. it'll give you more of an idea as to whether or not you need to change your diet.
I'm only somewhat versed in the "lyme diet" but i usually drink one of those ensure "gain or maintain heathy weight" shakes every morning when i'm not feeling well. They're easy to get down and can help sneak in the extra nutrition your body needs when you're sick.
Then again, maybe you should see your doctor and ask him. I don't know what your normal weight/build is, but i'm male and 6'1. I've dropped to about 168 since getting sick but i'm usually around 175-178.

Maybe a visit with a nutrtionist would help, so you could get a healthy plan that could help you gain weight.

Thanks 3030, judging by the amount of weight you have lost, that seems about right for me, I dropped about 8 lbs as well, so I'm in that range.

I also have always had a fast metabolism as well. I am 5'6" and now weigh 108 lbs. It is definitely due to the diet. I don't know how to gain either.

I'm male, 6'2" and went from 239 lbs in January to 213 lbs today. I lost most of the weight before starting treatment due to feeling like crap and having labyrinthitis (due to lyme.)
Since starting the yeast diet, I have lost more because it is tough to find things to eat
I've been meaning to lose this 30 pounds for about 10 years...just didn't want to lose it this way.
I do miss my bread, carbs, and sugar. I do cheat from time to time...usually once a week.
