Okay.

I've been off antibiotics for three months.

I take olive leaf extract and oil of oregano daily (strong doses) daily.

I have been on the candida diet since I stopped antibiotics, so three months of that, as well (it's kind of fun, you get to cook all these new types of meals).

I take things to support my immune system (besides all the copious nutrients in the food).

I get probiotics daily.

And I've tried to do antifungals (Diflucan) but every time I take it, whether it's a once a week thing or back-to-back every day, it just seems to make my problem worse.

I do not have and have never had full blown thrush (with the sores), or a full-blown yeast infection "down there." But it will not go away. While what I do does keep it from getting much worse, it scares me that it's really no better after doing ALL of these things.

And another strange phenomenon, the white coating on my tongue actually gets WORSE when I take my probiotics... I'm so confused and disheartened. How am I supposed to get back on my antibiotics and battle Lyme, if no matter what I do, my immune system can't even get control of this?

Diflucan may increase symptoms due to die-off. I had to take it daily for six weeks at one time to really clobber candida.

Then, before taking any abx OLE was enough to prevent candida
(at least for the longest I could be on abx, 2 months).

What brand of probiotics are you taking? Some products on the shelves actually don't contain at all what they should.

There's a mouthwash by Jason called "Healthy Mouth" (I think) that has helped others.

Have you changed your toothpaste? Many contain harsh chemicals and you might try brushing with a paste of baking soda. Let it dissolve in a little water first so that it's not granule any longer, less likely to scratch tooth enamel. Don't push too hard.

Hopefully, others will be along soon. Good luck.

Here is that wild + crazy massman again suggesting an actual book.
[woohoo]
"Conquering Candida and Restoring Your Immune System" by Jack Tips PhD ND.

Not sure why so many here howl about paying for real books when they spend $$$$$$ on supplements.
And still complain.

Not sure why net cruisers do not want to read real books. I really like Jack because he is interested in what I am - GOOD RESULTS [Cool]

I do believe probiotics can be overdone. Check with your doctor to see if you are taking too much.

I still take them but less than I use to take them.

Hi Keebler. I recently realized in the Burrascano Guidelines, close to the last page are some suggestions for battling yeast overgrowth, include the oral cleansing. I have nothing to lose so I'm going to try those tips, like disinfecting and then putting the probiotics in my mouth, hoping they'll overpower any candida.

My probiotics are the VSL # 3, I think that's the name of them. Lots of good guys in one capsule!

Thank you for the book recommendation, massman. No furniture so charming as books. (Sydney Smith)

Haley, I've tried various dosages of the probiotics over the past few months, not really sure where I'm supposed to be at... I will try decreasing them, though, and see if it makes any difference. Thank you.

I would say it's mostly die-off.

This is one time I don't buy into the "less is more" concept... but .. whatever floats your boat!! [Cool] Always worth a try, I guess!

Do a search on lymenet on 'oil-pulling.' There is a lot of info on it. It has helped me with yeast and is also helpful with thrush.

The oil pulls the toxins out of the system as well as yeast.

I was skeptical at first, but it is helpful.

I'm with Tutu on this.........

Jarrow Dophilus -Saccrhomyces Boulardi is another to try here

My LLMD has actually suggested the boulardi yeast, but would that be very safe if I'm already having a yeast problem? It seems the things I'm doing to disarm the candida would also disarm the sacchromyces, wouldn't it?

Thank you again for the suggestions.

Actually the method for mouth cleansing recommended by the Burrascano guidelines is helping a bit, so at least I have something that's showing results. I'm going to keep doing it... But then again I'm also taking the reduced amount of probiotics at the same time, so who knows what's going on! [shake]

The boulardi yeast is quite different if I understand it correctly.

You need both kinds of probiotics.

Both kinds??? What are the "two"? [confused]

Glad I'm not the only one with this problem. Eating yogurt, drinking kefir, or taking oral probiotics turns my tongue whiter, too.

I've also noticed that my teeth develop tartar immediately after any form of probiotic, even when I've just been to the dentist...so my tongue and teeth both are affected by this yeast.

Not sure why I can't kick this, but this has me thinking...

Do EMFs Affect the Growth of Yeast?
http://www.usc.edu/CSSF/History/2006/Projects/J1310.pdf

So some possibilities...
1) Geomagnetic storms.
2) Cell phone towers.

Actually, I've been checking several Space Weather sites daily for several years and have definitely noticed a correlation between my white tongue coating and certain Space Weather 'events'. I'm not kidding. I still think the towers are the real problem though.
