I am newly diagnosed based on the following: Low CD57 (count was 42) and positive band 23 as well as positive for rocky mountain spotted fever (don't have it but was exposed) which apparently proves I was bitten by a tick. Does this sound like enough for a diagnosis? I am starting abx treatment. I was a step away from being diagnosed with probable MS based on one lesion on my brain stem and 3 positive protein bands from a spinal tap.

Lyme Disease is a "clinical" diagosis! Period!
However, band 23 is a lyme specific band! In my opinion band 23 backs up the clinical diagnosis!

RMSF can be chronic active, too. With a positive test for RMSF, you really need a good ILADS-educated LLMD who will look at this with more attention.

Oh, they really didn't need to do that. But, as you see, if they ignore that because it is just shy of the IDSA/CDC criteria, you really do need a real ILADS-educated LLMD.
But, wait, you say you are starting abx treatment but asking if you have lyme. Are you seeing a good LLMD?
Seems very clear to me that lyme is in the picture and I'd still consider addressing RMSF. -

I am seeing an LLMD he says its lyme based on my symptoms, the positive band and low cd57. He says the rmsf is not active. I guess I'm always second guessing myself. My gut is that it is lyme and not MS (especially since I don't meet MS criteria) which is why I sought out an LLMD. I started on Ceftin today.

What do you think causes MS???
Most of us here don't buy that your body just suddenly starts attacking itself for no reason. Something brings it on, whether it be bacterial, viral or some other type of infection.

MS is most often a misdiagnose and it's a constellation of symptoms, not an actual disease. "MS" specialists have no single cause. However, those who understand the workings of lyme and some other chronic stealth infections (such as Cpn), see many patients who had been mis-dx with MS when they actually had advanced lyme or Cpn, etc. ( www.cpnhelp.org )
With treatment, improvement is very possible. Glad you are getting treatment. Be sure you also have good liver support.
Has your LLMD suggested certain supplements? Have you seen Dr. B's suggestions or read the book: "The Lyme Disease Solution" ? -

My LLMD gave me Dr. B's guidelines to follow. I am taking fish oil, b-complex, magnesium, vit D (I am deficient) and probiotics and am looking into other supplements he has listed. I haven't purchased any books yet...was looking for one that was best/most inclusive. I will look at Lyme Disease Solution. There is a Lyme Support Group in my area and hope to attend next month to learn more. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome!
