What is the best lab for tick testing for Lyme & Co?

How accurate is the test?

Kicking myself for not getting the tick that bit my 2 year old tested.

I had a tick tested thru Igenex... ( I love Igenex ) ..

It came back negative for babesia and Lyme 3 weeks later and I became ill 9 days after the bite. I got on abx the same day as the bite.

I think I wasted my money.

My FORMER LLMD used tick testing results as the marker for whether to treat for lyme or not.

Must have had..I don't know....at least 10 tick bites while under her care that came back negative for lyme and co.'s from Igenx and other lab.s.

Despite my getting sick with classic lyme symptoms she would not treat because "the tick tested negative". Yea, LLMD...

My understanding is that tick testing is no more reliable then human testing and has quite a bit of false negatives.

My current LLMD does not test the tick because of this very reason. Was a waste of my time, money and health. TG

I was just going to ask the question of how reliable the tick testing is? I just sent one to Igenex and it came back negative for lyme.

We found it on my son but it didn't bite him. I just wanted to test it to prove that lyme is in Ohio cause I am tired of hearing it's not!!

So I was actually hoping for a positive result and bummed when it wasn't
