Thanks. I think they are over looking birds as important transporters of ticks (and ticks are also found in the desert) but the soil and moisture habitat they discuss certainly can be a summer and winter camp for the creatures.

Glad to see NASA knows something about ticks and infections. NASA might be able to help in other ways, too, so I sure hope they don't just stop with identifying likely habitats.

Also, to consider, ticks have been found in desert areas, too, but I guess they are looking for the likelihood of the higher concentrations.

Wonder if lady bugs can eat ticks ?
