was going to ask doc to replace my flagyl for tindamax until i read this
Before taking Tindamax, tell your doctor if you are using any of the following drugs:
antibiotics such as azithromycin (Zithromax), ciprofloxacin (Cipro), clarithromycin (Biaxin), erythromycin (E-Mycin, E.E.S., Ery-Tab, Erythrocin), itraconazole (Sporanox), or ketoconazole (Nizoral);
If you are using any of these drugs, you may not be able to use Tindamax, or you may need dosage adjustments or special tests during treatment.
Considering I am starting Zith again soon, I guess the tindamax is not a great idea :/
I think the flagyl is making my neuropathy worse so I am thinking I should stop it. Don't want permanent damage.
Anyone know of any other cyst busters??

My daughter is taking Tindamax and is using Zithromax. Her LLMD did not say anything about it being a problem.
I do administer the Tindamax at least an hour after her other meds though, so perhaps that is why she hasn't had a problem.
(I did want to add though that the biggest concern I've read regarding Tindamax is the use of alcohol. I stopped all her herbals because of the alcohol tincture. You probably don't need to completely stop them, if you're taking any, as you're an adult. I just didn't want to take the risk with her being a child.)

Ask a pharmacist about the Tindamax/Zith combination. MD's are not educated in the matter of pharmaceuticals, how they work, why and interactions. DON'T TRUST YOUR LLMD OR ANY OTHER DOCTOR TO KNOW THESE THINGS. "M.D." does not stand for "medical deity."
Do your own research and when in doubt, ask a pharmacist!!!

I am also taking Zith and Tind...although Tind is only every 4th week.
I will have to ask my MD and pharm about this...
I also second the no alcohol. I had two sips of wine (truly sips) thinking a little wouldn't hurt - oh boy was I ever wrong. Sick for an entire day.
Whenever taking a new medication I also believe it's good to do research BESIDES what your LLMD (or even your pharmacist) has told you- they both can miss things. For example, I saw an LLMD miss the 'mepron and rifampin' issue once. Not all interactions are significant (for instance Biaxin and Bactrim have interactions but many LLMD's prescribe them anyway and there is good reason to ignore the significance of that interaction). It's always good to double-check everything.
I check: -drugs.com interactions checker -rxlist.com (it's more technical so might be hard if you're brain-fogged -if I find something, I ask on the forum here or do some searches to see if it's common to have LLMD's prescribe that combination for some reason despite the interaction -I double check with my LLMD (if I can reach him) if I find something.
Many LLMD's prescribe zith and tindamax.
I think tindamax has made me make huge gains in getting rid of some brainfog this spring.
Also, the alcohol issue isn't that clear-cut. I take 1 tsp of an herbal tincture three times a day, no problem. In April I once forgot about the alcohol issue and had a beer about 3 hours after having my tindamax. No problem in my case.

Sorry to say I have not seen my son get sick either. Wouldn't mind if he did.

I take 4 days of amoxy and zithro then 3 days of tindamax per week. 3 weeks in and not have any problems yet. Not dared any alcohol though.
