Anyone find themselves not breathing fully at night?
About once a week I find myself waking up suddenly with an urge to inhale for more air. As I doze back toward sleep I get the sense that my respiration becomes infrequent. This then tends to wake me for more air. This doze/wake may go on for about an hour before dissipating.
These episodes are nearly always accompanied by mild night sweats. My diet and meds are fairly consistent day to day. So far I don't know why it happens from time to time.

I would consider these to be Babesia symptoms - air hunger and night sweats.

One explaination - Episodes of not breathing during sleep occurs with Central Sleep Apnea. The connection to lyme/co.'s I do not know.
Central Sleep Apnea occurs when there is pressure or compression to the brain stem (responsible for alerting the brain for respiration). Google it and you will find out more info.
A sleep study would not be out of the question.

Hi dguy,
I saw my LLMD for the first time last week and complained about the same thing.
It ended up just being that the doxy exacerbated my minor acid reflux, a common thing apparently with doxy. She also said to NOT LIE down for at least 3 hours after eating. Since I'm so allergic to the sun while on doxy, she switched me to Omnicef & zithro.
Hopefully if you give this a try it will work for you and not be anything serious.
