i've checked on the web for sweating as part of a herx. everything says "increase in symptoms" but it doesn't say sweating.
i took one biaxin this morning. a couple of hours later, the sweat was pouring off my face. the hair was wet. it literally was dripping down the sides of my face.
herx maybe?

i get that when i pulse my artemisinin every 2 weeks, excessive sweating but the odor is worse too...hair is really greasy....not noticeable when of it......so i do relate it to a herx..........

Good question and one that perplexes me. The number of my sweats are (all too slowly) decreasing, but when they occur, they're more significant-I feel hotter and sweat more. Not aware of any connection but will keep that in mind, may be good information.

Well, it is certainly good detox and I believe it is the body's way of dealing with the bugs and their toxins.

Not sure what it is from. All I have to do is step outside for five minutes and I start sweating profusely. So then I come inside and the sweat starts pouring off of me while I am attempting to cool down the body.

If youre having excessive sweating especially at night (i sweat ALL the time) it MIGHT be a symptom of a coinfection. If youve already explored that option ignore me. Im always sweating even when its cold. Its awful. But i too believe that its good in its own right...sweat those toxins out!

I kept breaking into sweats today on my 3rd day on Diflucan. Yuck. Some air hunger too. My throat is KILLING me.

Many of the docs have linked night sweats and excessive daytime sweats to Babesia. It can be a symptom of the infection and/or a herx.

I have had horrific night sweats off and on for YEARS. The last bout was this past winter, every night, went into spring, every night. Soaking, bed drenching night sweats.
They stopped suddenly, only rarely now, and I've been on Ceftin for ~ 6 weeks. I took 2 very short courses of Flagyl. One course was 3 days, and then a lesser dose 2 weeks later for 4 days. (Had to quit -- too many neurological problems.)
I also was diagnosed with a parasite. Babesia isn't the only parasite!! My theory currently is that the parasite was responsible for the horrific night sweats, as I tested negative for Babesia.

I think treating for one infection can bring out the others laying dormant. When I was treating lyme, the bart became more obvious and I even quit one drug believing the symptoms of bart to be side effects of the drug. Then when I treated bart I had what seemed like babesia symptoms come out (air hunger) so I added artimesinin and it is gone.
It sounds like you may be co infected with babesia. Other signs are sore throat, air hunger, tiredness (sometimes sleeping a lot ) , headache and eye problems. People say it cycles so if you have these sweats every week or two, I would be very suspicious of babesia.
