has anybody had a dvt or clots??........does lyme and Co's cause clotting disorders???.......

I have pain (not all the time) and slight swelling in my right forearm exactly where I had a lot of trouble with IV's end of last year ( before they knew it was lyme)......they kept putting regular iv's in in the hospital......i had extensive bruising and you could see the damaged veins for a couple of months.......

this last few days the exact site of all the inflammed and damaged veins is giving me problems.....

I would hate to think they damaged that area enough there is now a problem......any ideas?????

You can do hot compresses to the area, until you see your doctor to be evaluated.
The heat relaxes blood vessels, so that the injured area gets more oxygen and nutrients.

It's kind of boring to do this. I usually set things up so that I can read or watch tv.

I have seen very good results with hot compresses speeding the healing of injuries and infections.
If you have an infrared pad or an LED light therapy unit, use that to increase circulation.

Your doctor can do tests to see if clotting problems. I have genetic clotting disorder called Factor V Liedem.

It was found by a blood test my LLMD before I was put on Rocephen.

Since finding out I have that I take precautions. Example do Lovenox shots after foot surgery while bed ridden, did them while on IV Tigecyl couple yrs ago too.

Now I take lumbrokinase to help prevent fibrin.
keep away "sticky blood".

Yeah, like dmc says check for Factor V and run a full thrombosis panel (your doc can determine which ones to run).

I have Factor V too along side an antithrombin III deficiency.

Often you can have these genetic issues without suffering any problems. I've never had a DVT, yet my brother has the same profile and almost died from DVT complications.

So it helps to at least know if these genetic factors are present.

Vitamin E at higher doses, Lumbrokinase, Nattokinase may help to some degree.

Clotting issues likely make it harder for the body to clear infections so addressing them may help....
