I got this filled in early May after I took my son to Urgent care for a tick bite. I only gave him the one dosage, then the next day I was able to get a script for ceftin from his pediatrician. I know with ceftin I have had to go every 10 days for them to mix the bottles. Today is his last day of the ceftin script.
I was wondering if the azithromycin (liquid) i had filled in early May is still good. It doesn't say anything on the bottle about it only lasting 10 days, but the script was only for 6 days, so I am not sure.
Thanks, Maureen

Call the pharmacy where you had it filled and ask.

Liquid Zith has a very short shelf life and has to be mixed up every 10 days, just like the ceftin. I wouldn't use it if it is old........of course you should call your pharmacist to verify this.
Also, be aware that the liquid form of zith contains artificial sweeteners and red dye.
I have my child's zith compounded so it is free of everything but the medication.....she still can't swallow pills at 13.5 yo.....has severe gag reflex!
