I don't know how to photo this to the computer, but I will describe it as best I can.
It becomes bright red and itchy. It is in large blotches on the back of his one knee.
It's a bit rough and a little bumpy.
The doctor had said exema months ago, but it wont go away and it seems to have a life of it's own. Getting worse and spreading, then retreating with a touch of steroid cream. Sometimes a pimple like white head will show up as well.
What does this sound like?

Anybody.......
They are red patches only behind his rt knee now. A little on his left, but majorly on the rt. They have always been confined to his legs.
He is being treated for Lyme, Babs and bart. They feel a little like sand paper and are bright red.

I have had similar before being diagnosed and recently upon starting new meds for bart and lyme. Always told it was eczema. I think it is bart (maybe lyme) related. It is coming out hard lately. I was/am afraid it was an allergy to the drugs. It comes and goes, which makes me think otherwise. Also, I think it is worse during shifts in my hormones.
Does yours scale over and flake off after being really itchy? I have it on my thigh, chest, arm, and ankle right now.
How do you get it on the computer? I want so much for everyone to see it.
It looks like the consistency and shades go from bright red to light pink depending on a single dose of steroid ointment.
It does not flake off. It just fades back into the skin as quickly as it comes back out when using the ointment. It is itchy when it is bright red. I'm not sure which comes first, the itch or the red.
It's on my son. Only his legs though.
I really think it is Bart too, but I wanted to hear what everyone thought before I went there.
Venus, have you had visual issues as part of your neuro issues? Stuff like "sticky eyes".

I really think that it is bart based on what I am treating right now. It might be lyme. I used to think it was unrelated, but no more.
yeah, it can itch terribly.

You should see the patch on my thigh. Biggest one yet. It is fading after about a week. Very strange indeed.

Personally I think eczema is a broad skin diagnosis like MS without a definition of cause.
Our Ped. sent us away with two tube refills and a dumbfounded look like"good luck with that". I looked at the refills and thought, "what the heck are we dealing with here?"
Perhaps a 10 day topical application and voila?.....not. He at least knew that. But I guarantee you he had no causality.
Sorry about your skin condition. Sounds like therapy brings it out more. But it is on and off as you say. You should get a tube of Desoximetasone usp,0.25% from your GP. It will keep the symptoms more at bay and perhaps stop the out spread.
It pops up somewhere and then it starts to spread out in the area. Without this ointment we would be more covered, I'm sure.

Yeah. I have a version of that on my chest. Keep it under control with steroid cream. Guess it's bart?

I just use calamine lotion to control the itch. Works as well as anything that I have found.
More popped out last night. I am on a roll with this new protocol.
