I feel after 6 years, my doc doesn't know what to do. She's aggressive, and I bounced back 3

times, but this time isn't doing any good. I'm scared to find another doc, but I don't know

what to do. Every day is mental pain, some physical, my psych gave me meds that either

aen't working or didn't kick in. Afraid to sleep, exhausted though, cause wake up in the

same cofused state of mind, living in hell. Everyone has their own hell, this is mine.

Going to new ll therapist, my psych is great, but don't know what to do about my doc. Think

there's more to it than lyme, hormones, wish I could find someone to put all the pieces

together since I'm apart piece by piece. We all are. Did alot of you switch to find you feeling

better. Don't know what to do.
Thanks.

It surely is more than just Lyme.

Lyme is a catalyst infection. It takes down all your defenses and then goes for all your critical systems.

Especially your Endocrine System, which controls your hormones and other chemical processes in the body.

Also have you disseminated the difference between psychological and psychiatric health issues?

If you did not have mental health problems before Lyme, you very likely have psychiatric problems, not psychological.

There is a big difference between these as one is usually caused by a chemical imbalance or genetic predisposition. There is also traumatic destabilization, however this is more rare.

On the other end of the spectrum there is mental health instability that is neurologically based. For many with Lyme this is often the case. Just as neurological damage and/or sickness can cause physical symptoms ranging from muscle twitches all the way up to MS, ALS, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's symptoms, psychiatric ones are just as much a possibility.

A good bet for you would be to track down a neurologist and not just any neurologist, a Lyme neurologist or at least a Lyme-friendly one.

There is so much damage Lyme can do to the brain, it's a bottomless pit of possibilities of what it may have done to you.

Add to this if it has taken down your Endocrine System and you have a recipe for disaster. Poor hormone levels equal poor emotional stability.

It is likely as well that the treatment protocols your doctor has been using just don't fit you. It's an individual experience for everyone.

Have you been detoxing, eating well and taking supplements along with treatment?

It sounds like it's time for either a new LLMD that addresses more bases, like co-infections, heavy metals, hormones, etc., and/or adding in a LL neurologist. I know of 2 LL neurologists in CT.

But it also sounds like you could use a fresh eye that is more comprehensive as your LLMD. I have a suggestion as to who, as I'm sure do others, but it would have to be PM'd.

Good grief! You've been suffering enough lately! You deserve the best help you can find.
