I have read on a lot of posts that Igenex is the most reliable lab for testing for Lyme Disease. I am uncomfortable with $260 initial price tag, though. I was wondering if anyone had any luck getting reimbursed by their insurance? I have GHP right now, but I am changing jobs so I do not know what insurance I will have...

Hi there, my Igenix bill was over $600 and I had to pay out of pocket but was extrememly successful with submitting to my insurance on my own. I'm fortunate to have two insurances.... my first insurance paid the first 80% and my 2nd Insurance covered the rest. So I did get all my money back. I also see an LLMD that takes Insurance so I am so thankful that I have this all covered. I so feel for all those out there that don't have this option. Hope this helps.. Call your insurance company. You can submit a claim form on your own...

I got insurance to pay for mine.. I think 80%?? It took me 9 months of hounding them for the reimbursement though!

I got it back after some effort. I didn't test for co-infections though.

Igenex labs western blot and co infections was 1860$ insurance covered 99$Appealed 2 weeks ago no res ponce.Bad experience with my Dr.who charged me that much and insurance BCBSH who send me check for only 99$.

BCBS of MA would not cover it at all for my son in '08. We paid it out of pocket.

My BCBS paid for about 1/3 of the cost. I paid Igenex about $650 for lyme, babesiosis, and bartonella testing.
